RESTO My Carbon Fiber X4's

I'm running a stock manifold but I did clean it up a bit internally. I have a Spec 2 mani to try if I need more performance.

Yes Racer that bar that the front mount did interfere with the Coffman race pipe. It was not the only problem though it hugged the bottom of the cylinders and was touching the inside of the deck. It would take pounding in many places.

I think they have positioned the engine a little differently. I'll have to look at it next to my 97SPX. All these pipes should fit.

That's basically what I was getting at, all these pipes "should" fit, but finding out what's different is key. I wouldn't pull the old team heat and beat yet.

Wow that aluminum bracket across front mtr mount seems over kill thick. I might be tempted to drop thickness and weld gusset across bottom. Of course you would have to shim mtr mount. Looks you have Yami shorter mount. Your right on pipe denting. No affect on perform. That TNT pipes makes a bit more RPM but damn its a heavy bitch.. great work.. youdaman for working upside down. Split that damn hull! Lol

Well the engine seems to sit further up in the hull. What I think happened is they trimmed too much off the new top deck before they joined the two halves. The little Coffman rec pipe is on the way to me and at $90 it's gonna see the hammer(or vise maybe?) first. I sent off a Jetpro and a TNT pipe to Texas to be repaired. They are both inner/outer pipes like my Neptune, TNT, and Coffman race pipes. This way I'll have plenty of options if the Coffman rec won't perform.

It went right in there with room left over. I can start moving forward again now.

I've got my all silicone hose on there now.

Nice is it going to clear the seat? Maybe its just an optical illusion from the camera angle making it look like it's sticking up to far.

It would mess with a stock seat but mine has already been altered underneath so no loss there. I guess it may limit the other seats laying around that would fit it though. The otherwise minty hump seat with the AP cover that came with it has the plastic cut underneath. I guess now I know why.

I have all silicone couplers cause I know that pipe is gonna get hot. I will make sure to route the wires and hoses well clear of it.

Well I don't know about that 500 but I did get another good afternoon in today. I love putting the puzzle together it never gets old. I did the fuel system minus the new valve I'm waiting on. I love the look of colored lines but I just can't take a hit in quality just to "bling". I like the thick walled Gates brand of fuel line for it's abrasion resistance and it does not like to kink.

The beam in the bottom has unused bosses in certain areas so I had a nice place to bolt the new Mikuni fuel pump. I just saw in the pic I missed the zip tie clamp on the impulse hose.

Here you can see where the exhaust manifold of a previous engine has been hitting the underside of the hump seat

I got the old purple billet adapters off another set of carbs. I had lots of them but these lined up with the 42mm throats of my Novi carbs. I went with ProK filters. I like the look and the flow and they don't weigh a thing. I need some pre-filters now to help keep water out.

Yeah I let it pass but it was a good deal when it came out. I do have that stuff. Here is that seat pic.

Interesting. I dont see how there is anything to trim on upper half. Sounds like lower half mold was built off of 717 xp which may have lower draft? I noticed my ATM motor set back engine 2 inches and used 587 2 inch shorter drive shaft. Seemed like those Bullet hulls had variable engine mounts? Idea was keeping nose up picked up 2 mph. That would seriously help your clearance. I did same thing on my seat. My bad on pipe. I meant Neptune pipe not TNT.

On the red boat that got stolen, it had a water fitting added to the top of the Spec 2 pipe for a pisser. The seat was cut to clear it. It had dual cooling so I assume it needed more pissers to get that extra water out.

Yes I've thought these "extra" threaded bosses along the rails could have been for 717 mounts. I have a lot of 717 based monsters but I was going to go that way on my other carbon X4. This one I'll just keep altering. It goes to show though how much it can affect everything else when you go changing things.

Well this one his the manifold without any extra fittings. When you put the seat on the back sits up and inch. You have to push the back end down to click it. I will probably have to bubble the plastic on the bottom of the seats to get myself a little clearance.

I suspect they built that hull from 717 platform. Back then a 787 was adapted. Intiatial 717 stroker stand up engines were adapted to a snowmobile wrap aroung dry pipe.

Beleive me brother I know. Wher do you think all that stuff is now?......Me! I've got Novi motors, Rossier motors, etc. My holy grail in hand is an upright RAVE built for a racer by BRP (Franco) but then tuned by Mel Miller who made a boost bottle and other parts for it.

Here is a look at the Novi engine.....

My other carbon hull is already set up for these and has the Bazooka pipe. I have extra Bazooka pipes with manifolds and will be the guy who runs this stuff again. The problem is that I need to buy barrels of race fuel to enjoy them.

Love it Matt! I may have had a few of those. Meanwhile on the 787 format here we are. I actually had a 787 BV race engine in Bullet HX. Curently lodged at the bottom of Pacific Ocean! (:
