Um......find an empty hull and swap the guts would be my choice.

It's way beyond my limited skills, I gonna agree with racer, find a non-runner with a good hull and do a swap.

You shouldn't have any problem finding a hull for that model maybe even free. Its honestly not worth the effort and time to repair. The other thing is how much hidden damage is there. By the looks of the impact area it probably would not ever be sound enough to ride I wouldn't want to get on it no matter who repaired it .

Yea that was my first idea but I havent been able to find any around here. I live near nashville tn. Pretty sure I make it wirk until I can find a new hull. How hard is it to swap the engines

I saw one in GA on Craigslist a few days ago hull only for 75 is that a regular gtx or a gtx limited

If yo don't find a hull, you will need to wrap the new into the old a ways back/behind the damaged area. It will need to be sanded to get rid of the gel coat and I would make a form from wood that is screwed into the hull and have some short screws coming through the wood so the new glass has something good to adhere to.

If it were mine and this was my ONLY choice,, I would sand back about 1.5 foot and start working from there.

I was told if i put all my post in one thread it would work better for everyone so here's my story. I bought two seadoos this weekend. First time owner. Thought i got a deal, still think i do. I got a 96 gtx with the front end smashed off from smashing into the dock, what idiot leaves his pwc tied to the dock and watch it slowly smash the front end off, anyways, the inside was decently clean a little mold but no oil or trash in the bilge, oil and gas tanks empty, had been winterized and sat for two years. He promised it ran before he parked it. Next is the 99 gts its a little worse looking as in paint fade and the guts. still nothing horrible just a lil dirty and neglected. oh and no key. owner promised it ran also before parking. My buddies says hes going to buy it off me and fix it up himself so im not too worried about it ....... yet. I got them both with a dual trailer for a grand so I think i got a good deal if at least one of them runs right? So im starting this thread so i can get help and advice on all my hope dreams and failures at my attempts to become part of the elite pwc owners. so thanks and good luck to me.

The way it's looking the OP will be at 600 new threads before the day is out

Ok so I would post a want ad on craigslist for a gtx hull. Is it a 96 gtx? You could use a 96 or 97 hull. You should be able to get one for about $100-$200. The expensive part is the hood. You did great at $1000 if the other runs. Your trailer is a minimum of $500 and the ebox in the gtx with the body damage is worth $250-$300.

That's what you call dock damage? Was it a concrete dock and was the ski doing 30 when it hit?

If you pull the spark plugs out and rotate the pto you will know if your motor is locked up. Pull the pto cover off. Just follow the drive shaft to the cover. On the grey cover there is 2 plastic wing nuts. Unscrew those, remove the cover and you will see the pto. Take some pictures of the inside so we can see if anything else is wrong.

So i have lots of time to research since i have to build up my seadoo bankroll. Ive yet to find out if the gtx will start, the battery was juiced of course. but i did manage to get it to turn over with the spark plugs out so i know its not locked up, but the battery wouldnt hold enough charge to turn over with the plugs in. i have put a lil oil in the oil reservoir and a lil pre mix gas in the gas tank just in case the pump doesnt work.

You can get a etx16l agm battery for about $75 from advanced auto or any auto store. The battery has to have 12 volts when cranking or the mpem will not send spark to your motor. DO NOT JUMP THE SEADOO BATTERY with a charger or running vehicle. You can ruin your mpem. Only use a fresh battery

As for the oil pump they are pretty much rock solid. The oil lines do dry rot from the paint that seadoo used when they painted the motor. Replace those lines and the fuel lines. The fuel lines were made when ethanol was not in gas. They are not rated for ethanol. They will break down internally and clog your carbs and lean out your motor. You will need about 25 ft of 1/4 fuel line and stainless steel hose clamps.
