Hey i need help replaces the steering cable on my 98 gsx ltd , it stored in a non heated garage and i went too turn the handle bars and it was stuck and i forced it and snapped the cable. Can someone please give me a step by step on how to replace this and did the handlebars get stuck because the machine was really cold or any other suggestions. Please help thank you for your time guys.

Hi & welcome,
I doubt if the handle bar got stuck because of the cold. Unless water was there and it froze. How cold is it in Alberta now?
Most likely the cable got wet and started to rust/corrode and wouldn't move, so it broke under pressure.
You need a manual. If you become a premium member then you can download any that you need for free then print them off. (i put 2 on a thumb drive and took it to Office MAX) and had them bound both as well......about half the cost of a True Seadoo manual.

Minnetonka4me or his brother will probably have the cable for you at a fair price, or others may as well.

They freeze...water gets in there and they freeze. Ya gotta be careful with them thats for sure.

Pull the pump, it will be really hard to reach the plastic nut that holds the steering cable. It maybe doable with just the nozzle out.

Take the swivel off the end of the cable, then the rubber seal things, then take that plastic nut thing out and pull the cable towards you. Theres two half plastic parts behind the plastic nut you just removed....take them off and slide the seal behind it off the cable. The pump end is now disassembled and will allow you to pull the cable into the hull.

On the handlebar end just get your head in there and look...3 10mm bolts and that end is out. Then slide the cable out, and reverse on reassembly.

I do have a few used ones in stock if you are interested.

Thanks for your quick feedback and help guys really appreciate it, i will letting you know how the process goes thank yu for your time
