Some of the bends are really bad and the channel for the inners are pinched shut. I think they sat on a shelf like this for a long time. I do have some gtx outers laying around. They are not in the best shape though. I will see what I can do with these. I will bring in a dump truck and put a board on top of it, lay the rails on there. I will turn up the heat and they will be 2 ft from the resnor heater. I will leave them up there for a while then i will make a jig from 2x4's and insert them into it and screw them down. They should mold right back into place. I will take a 2x6 then place a known good rail on it. Then take 2 2x4's and screw them tight against each side of the rail. I will then use my table saw and cut a piece to fit perfectly inside the outer rail. I will screw that piece between the 2 2x4's screwed to the 2x6. I will place the rail in the jig while it is warm then screw it down using the holes for the rivets. This should work

Got a couple photos today of the hood.

Experimented with the plotter today. Scanned in my tracing. Then we cut a few of them in different colors. We cut red, black, and white ones. I stacked the red on black to give it a shadowed look like the oem has.

So now I just have to order the carbon fiber. I may just get the grey carbon fiber and shadow it with normal black. The carbon fiber rolls are $90 each.

That's CRAZY! I think I might need one for the back window of the Yukon.

Nope 2ft x 30ft. I need the 10yard roll. We are doing the seadoo logos for the bottom of the xpl and gsx. Also I wont buy the cheap off brand stuff on ebay. I want the stuff that is 5-7 year, rated for outdoor and marine use. The stuff will last forever on our seadoos as they dont sit outside much.

Worked on the bump rails.

First we heated them up.

We placed them close to the heater.

And this is how I got them that close

I did not even have to do anything else besides heat them. I just flipped them a couple times and the curled spots laid flat. I placed them on the hull and they conformed to the contours perfectly. So we riveted them on and I cleaned them up.

Sweet, I know when I had some off that were "weird" I left them in the sun and they were super pliable. Same for the insert, a little time in the sun and it like putty. That is looking amazing BTW.

Thanks, I thought I left them up there too long. Some areas felt really soft, almost a gummy feeling to them. As they cooled they hardened back up. This is really coming along nicely. I am going to order the vinyl tomorrow. I cant find a good grey carbon fiber to go with my seat. I found a great black carbon fiber but it is $140 for 30"x10yards a bit pricey. I also need to find corners for my rails. Mine are both cracked.

I am putting a hot products gun metal billet fuel cap on this

It should look really great when the hood and seat cover is on.

The 96xp was not the only one that had decals made lol.

Cut my decals but the mask we have is not tacky enough to grab the carbon fiber. So I have to wait until we get some to install them.

We bought black and charcoal 3m vinyl. This stuff is not cheap.

I also cut a gloss black of the xp decal and will layer it to create the shadow effect. Should look great.

My hand cutting days are over, LOL. I'll need a small Seadoo and XP for the back of my car.

What is the exact size of the SEADOO hull logo? From the long lower leg of the S to the back edge of the O. Also what is the height?

They are different per model. I just measure what size I am recreating and then cut it. I can make any size. I think this one is 2.75" x 24". The xp hull is taller and longer.

Is that their textured vinyl? I've used some of that on my car, with great results. Not so much luck on my sled though; it turns EXTREMELY brittle below 30*f.

Also got some rave valve blue screws from Minnetonka4me

Pto painted ready to go.

This pto was a replacement, mine was bad. Here is the original

Today, we tied up all the loose ends on the motor, cleaned and installed the raves, put the reeds in, put the starter in, hooked up the oil lines, hooked up the pulse lines, put the exhaust brackets on, the manifold was not dry yet we painted it gloss black. I like the accent colors too. I think i really looks sharp and the rave caps look great on it. It should go in tomorrow. It will be easy to drop in with the hood off. We also will alignit tomorrow.

I was going to wait to post this until we got the hood back and it mounted, but here is the new addition to the xpl. Picked this up from Minnetonka4me

The umi for this is pretty rare I will polish it up

The stainless steel braided hose is earls 28an hose. It is going to replace the plastic tubes in the hood. I saw this on another forum where they were replacing the rxp tubes on the hood. Riva sells them for $100 this to me looks better and was $80 shipped from summit.
