I use a small amount and use a small round wood stick to spread it that a friend got from a Dr.'s office. Yours just looked so even.

Started on the hull today.

Took off the seat and most of the trim items

All off and pretty nasty

Took off the rub rails. They are damaged and the previous owner bolted them back on. You can see they are cracked on the bottom

I use a 2x4 wedged in the track to pound out the inner rub rail. Makes quick work of getting them out. Been doing this since my very first seadoo a 94xp that I put 96 rub rails on.

Stripped the decals. I use a harbor freight heat gun and hold it about 2 inches away, but close enough to,see the refelction of the heat gun like seen here.

Found this beauty in the pump. Nice skat track swirl

And a r&d ride plate, it will clean up nice,

Stripped and ready to start the buffing.

I did wash it, so tomorrow after she is dry the buffing will start.

As far as the rub rails go, everyone I have done, I have just peeled them off like a bandaid and hammered them back in with a rubber mallet. Is this not the right way? Lol

Bill has been out of state. He just got back recently. He actually just sent pictures of some of the work he has been doing to the hood. He will pick it up soon. Plus I think he likes it in a heated warehouse lol.

On the right of the 98 spx there is my 96xp under a rack and the 99spx is to the left of the 98. We also have a couple out back and a some at our houses. We want those 2 96xp's gone but we are waiting on pwcgraphics to make those replica decals. I havent been able to get a hold of him. Space is limited for us so that real estate is very much wanted for other projects.

I actually work at the GM tech center. We build prototype cars and future models. The owner of the warehouse owns a landscape company. I use to run the company but now just do quotes and plow/salt for him on the side

And this

We have some pretty cool things that we got for this. The seat cover should be in soon. We are also buying some carbon fiber vinyl and will be trying to cut some logos. That is why we havent pulled the last of the decals off. I am going to trace them and see if I can scan it and cut them in our plotter.

Those parts are not for this either. Well maybe one of the wear rings, but I doubt it. The one in this is really nice. I will be selling a couple of those other parts.

However I do have a nice pile of parts for this.

Nice as always JSG. It's so much better with the rub rail off to polish them up. I think I'm pulling it on the SPX. I'd rather drill rivets and re-rivet than mess with tape.

Thanks to you and those pop rivets I can pull them off. I still have alot of the ones you sent me. I am glad I pulled them off. I found one corner bumper was cracked and 2 both of the outer rails were busted. I think I am going to buy a set with black outers and yellow inners.
