mpem & dess key question...

we have established that our 95 1/2 XP [787 motor] needs an mpem. i have found one that came off basically the same boat, being parted out die to throwing a rod. they are selling the DESS key thats programmed to that mpem and the mpem itself. my question is, since the DESS post isnt inclused... will i be able to se mine? or is there also information stored on it?

yes... the post is just a post. as long as you have the lanyard that is programmed to that MPEM... you will be fine.
