What color is the bottle? I have the same motor as you and i use the xps mineral version in a white bottle. Im not about whether or not it is bad to use one of the synthetics.
somewhere i once saw plans for building a stand out of pvc. Seemed like an inexpensive route to go, not sure on stability, i remember people saying they had to fill their pipes with Expand-a-foam.
2 questions. The owner says the topend was redone last year and the ski has about 150 hours on it. Is it wise to just do the topend as opposed to a full rebuild on the 951? Also, besides color, what is the difference between the 98 gsx and the 99 gsx?
Thanks for the info as always guys.

I saw that ski on cl as well and in my opinion it looks good cosmetically. If you can get it cheap i would say it is a decent deal givent that you are probably going to have to replace some stuff. The noise could probably be just about anything if the motor mounts are busted. Not sure of the...
There is a bleed screw on the 717 for getting the air out of the larger oil hose. You may want to google around for the manual for your ski as it should show it and talk about it in there. I did my oil lines and did the method above where you pull the cable to help the oil pump through the...
i read an article somewhere the other day where the author was saying he's heard rumors of something with 300 hp. He also mentioned something about more of the upper line getting the composite hulls like the sparks and similar engines to the sparks.
Personally i wish they would make a 3...
I had the same thing happen earlier this summer. Same spot even. Jb weld was a waste of time for me. Ordered the plugs from racerxxx and took it to a local guy to weld it. Oddly enough finding somebody that can tig weld in my area was harder than i thought.
I also debated the need for mats on my 01 GS but i'm glad i bought them(slipped several times last year). I got blacktips last november on a blackfriday deal. I like the two tone colors.
So my coupler slid off again. Ebay doesnt seem to yield any results. Going to send a pm to tonka as well, but is there any type of automotive rubber hose that would work? It would seem to be a fairly normal looking hose, not sure if there is anything special about it or not.
Thanks for the info guys. It feels pretty solid in there now. I wont have time to try it for a couple of days but if doesnt work out i will order a new coupler.
Got my exhaust welded up and having issues getting the tuned pipe and exhaust cone to stay situated inside of the rubber hose and 2 clamps. The manual simply says there should be no space between them. There is a bit of a tapered edge on the tuned pipe so im not sure if it is supposed to slide...
Ok... not sure what you are referring to on the copper ring... I am a little confused though, are you saying to use the copper rtv on the pipe to manifold gasket or on the copper ring? My apologies, im still kind of a newb when it comes to a lot of this stuff.
Got the plugs in the mail from racerxxx and now hopefully the welder is able to do the job. Finding tig welders seems to be a tad more difficult than i thought it would be. I also bought a new gasket for the exhaust. What type of gasket sealer do you guys recommend for this? My old gasket...
