I know there are quite a few of us that live in the South and since my schedule hasn't ever allowed me to make a ride, I figured I'd try to gauge interest on a get together. Here's what I was thinking:

Date: well before or after the big event in New York (?) and preferably not in wet suit weather.

Location: it seemed like the NC and GA locations both worked well so I propose picking a known location to keep it simple, but I'm not dead set there.

So, I turn it over to you guys. Before we get into any real detail who is actually interested in the prospects of another get together?

I have a family ride planned early July to Bull Shoals Arkansas with 2 boats a couple skis and about 15 people so that kinda pushes me off any other summer ski trips,

I am curious if anybody has ever been there... it looks cool on the maps!

scott and i have been talking about doing one in lake norris, tn. I don't think i'll make the ny one.

yea i would really like to see this one happen at lake norris. Some really nice riding. We wont have to worry about wind. You can still find big waves but you can just ride though the mountains. Clear deep water and lost of things to do.

A friend of mine's family lives in Mountain Home and he goes there every summer. He said Bull Shoals is the nicest lake he has ever been on, although we are in California so all our lakes are dry so he might just be awestruck from a full lake, LOL.

We used to do a 4th of july trip to branson every year, and bull shoals is I believe the lake below that is fed by Table Rock Lake. Very very very clear water for a Missouri/Arkansas Lake. Mainly due to the fact it is a rock lake and not mud. Im sure it will be a great time. Being in the Ozarks there will be lots of great views and scenery. Northern Arkansas is absolutely breathtaking believe it or not.

Im taking the salt pigs to NY, so that means the wife isnt going because she is not very experienced on a ski and I feel like that would put her in a position to get hurt with a large group of hell rasing jet ski junkies. Soooo if we do a spring ride I'll bring the boat and wife and haul fuel cans/be the tow pig again and show you whippersnappers how to drive the shit out of a boat

sounds like a nice ride at norris lake for my new x4:thumbsup:

I'll throw in Lake Gaston like usual. :) Plenty of places to rent and Mpower will be back from knee surgery and maybe use his place as a staging area like we did at the Norman meet.

I'm looking online at Norris and it looks like a cool place. Pretty central location too
Norris looks does look cool, possibly some long rides there

My grandpa has a place there and I could line up some sleeping places for probably 6 people, docking sititation sucks tho, but the ramp is accross from the dock

Time to bump this thread to see if there has been any increased interest to move forward with planning.

Also, I'd like to throw Smith Lake, AL and Lake Martin, AL into the mix.

Scott and I talked on Sunday and are planning a weekend in Norris for sure regardless of a group ride. If you guys are cool with that him and I can plan. Depending on interest we can pick a house, camping, or condos. I know the mid west pwc club does a ride there out of the Shang hai resort/marina which has rooms to rent.

The lake is now booming with new marinas and bars so we can make up some great rides and not worry about x4s running out of fuel.
