A friend of mine has a 99 gtx limited. The ski is really clean but in the water it will not get up to speed. It will act like it wants to take off but won't go very fast. I removed the fuel rail and cleaned the injectors but that didn't help. Also changed the oil and plugs. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem before I have to tear this thing all the way apart. Thanks.

Check the compression. Should be 135(is) cold, and open throttle.

THEN... check the reeds They don't live forever, and if one broke... it won't run right.

Thank you for the reply I will check the reed's. I will let you know how it turns out.

I'm new to jet ski's but not to engines maybe it's called something else. It's the housing for the injector's that I was referring to. I don't know i if that help's but thanks for the reply.

you may have the right name for it, but the wrong ski model.

the 1999 GTX LTD uses a carb 951 engine
the 1999 GTX RFI uses a fuel injected (but not direct injection) 787

knowing which ski it is will help us, help you.
