put ski in water with new battery get one or two passes with it. come in to change riders and wont start any ideas.

have good spark. what connection should i look at. battery cables are tight. spark plug wires tight. or am i missing something

Were the carbs rebuilt recently???


If they were... you have bad diaphragms, and your engine is flooding when you turn it off. The import diaphragms allow the needle to leak.

no the carbs have not been rebuilt. ski will start and run after being on battery charger but only for one pass.

So you are suggesting that the battery is dying while you run it? If so check the charging system.

1996 SPI's don't have dess, its a 587 motor. Remove starter and put new brushes in it. Bills86e

Still sounds like he is running off the battery, and after one ride, it has sucked the battery dry, like it isn't charging.

This could indicate a charging problem, or still (as mentioned earlier) a bad connection between charging system and battery.

1996 spi charging problem

still working on it. got new rectifer going to replace it over weekend. had it on battery charger that checks the alternator said it was bad. also said had bad cell went thru three battery lastsummer same problem. any help would be great
