VTS Gauge on 1995 XP800 Limited

The needle in my VTS gauge is white and the background is white making it very difficult to read while riding. Is this part serviceable? Can I take it apart and paint the needle? If not, is there a replacement gauge with a colored needle?

The needle was originally bright orange. It's sun faded.

If you are very brave... you could cut the gauge open, and paint the needle.

You best bet is to buy a used gauge from eBay... but they are a little expensive, and they may not be much better than you have now.

thanks for the help dr honda, i might experiment w/ getting the gauge to open up and then if i break it look for a replacement. i need to figure out which years of gauges are compatable.
