i hope so ;) fuel pressure regulator was bad and replaced it with a new one. the old one lost pressure too quick and by the next day it was depleted but with the new one, had 90% pressure the next day. re checked the rv timing and clearance and is in spec. fingers crossed will find out soon.

Nice.....now what's your next project?

We have 4 going right now.
98 gsx
98 xpl
2 96 xp's and all of those have their own resto threads.
We just picked up 2 more 96 xp's that will be on the back burner.
We like to have some out back on deck.
We should have the 4 we are working on now done in less than a month.

The 96 xp's just need a quick clean, 1 needs the new graphics that should be here anyday, they both need the handlebar pads.

My xpl needs
Head put on and a squish test.
Seat wrapped, cover should be here this weekend.
Motor painted, also should be done this weekend.
Motor installed
Pump oil changed, and all the trim peices put back on when they get back from getting painted.

Do you want an aftermarket head with pump gas domes for the XPL? I'd cut you a clean one loose cheap for that keeper if you want to try it.

I'll hit Wayne up myself on that UMI for you. I assume he would have gotten back to your inquiry if he had one but he can be weird sometimes. I have not talked to him since he snuck in and bought thousands of dollars in am parts that I was working on. I not really mad at him or anything, I'll see what I can do.

Thanks to blackNyellow787 the search is over

He found the button side end cap for us. This and the button holder will go on a personal xp asap.

Thanks guys and thanks for finding that for us.

As for the handlebar pad bracket we never got enough interest to have them made. I posted pictures of how you can do it with just a 90 grinder and a drill. racerxxx also posted his modified version of mine that is even simpler. You only need a small piece of aluminum/stainless steel and something to use as a spacer.

I'll try to find that, I'm definitely interested in making one. They really add to the overall look on the bars

This was the bracket that my BIL drew up and cut. This was the prototype.

Not enough people were interested. It would not be worth it to make these.

And that was designed off of this, just cut with a grinder and then the holes drilled to accept the new style pad

You then need to add some spacers so the pad will bolt up about half an inch off of the plate.

Racer has his plate on the top where mine is off the bottom

I also bought different hardware. I bought longer bolts. Before I bolt the plate on I put a nylon lock nut it the bottom recessed portion of the stem, then put the bolt into the topside. I tighten all the bolts then there will with the longer bolts there will be enough threads to put the plate on and then put a washer and a nylon lock nut on.
