Hi and welcome to the Seadoo forum. Congrats on your new purchase and also for taking the safe boating course, I wasn't aware it was available on line. If you want to change your screen name contact one of the administrators, hfgreg or JoeZ.

Welcome aboard,,,

Are you taking a safety course or the Operators License course which contains the rules of the road, anchoring, towing ect ect?

It does get a bit slower here in the winter time, so if you ask a question, give it a day or o.
A "jet" boat as compared to a "prop" boat are very different in how they handle around docks and what not.

Again, welcome aboard and thanks for joining..

Thank you guys.
And yes im taking the full course ,its free online here https://elearning.boatus.org/
I read that i don't really need the certification because in FL is not required for my age but either way i went ahead and took it. Wanted to learn the difference from driving on land and in the sea. I'm a truck driver and i see plenty of people on the road that should go back to driving school and i didn't want to be one like them on the water.

That is the license course.

You will find parts of it challenging in my opinion. And this is coming from a person that was in the Coast Guard for 23 years.. LOL

But,,, you will find it SUPER rewarding. I FORCED my daughter to take the test regardless of the fact that legally she has to, but either way, as far as I am concerned, she had to...

If there is anything I can do for you, just ask. Lou is becoming active in the CG world as well, I am sure he can also help.

Again thank you.
I have found it hard specially because they mix stuff from big boats that i dont need to know with the stuff i really need to know lol
Doing some searching ,but not having much luck. Hoping someone else had to clean and flush the fuel tank but i cant find much about the subject.

Older Seadoo's are notorious for having fuel issues. However, boats do not have the same issues as the skis. The skis had a Grey Tempo fuel line that basically corroded from the inside out and seriously affected how the ski ran as well as blew the engine ups due to causing a Lean Fuel condition. With Lean fuel comes less oil. The boats never used the same fuel line and thus, never had the same issue. But,,, What I think I would do is, fill the lines with fuel and then using a small hand pump pressurize them with a pump or two and let it stand. If it bleeds off, you have a leak. It may not leak under normal use, but reast assured, ut WILL suck air.

The rectifier is a VERY common failure and it cause all kind of weird issue which all come back to poor performance of the engine. In most cases it will idle ok and in about half the cases will increase with moderate throttle application. It is mostly under high revs and quick throttle movement where the rectifier shows its evil side.

I was told about the rectifier from the seller and he suggested i had an extra one in addition to spark plugs and something else that don't come to mind now. My question for you is.... on the challenger 1800(and pretty sure most of the sea doo boats) the fuel tank is behind the motors , according to the shop manual the fuel tank does not have a drain plug of any kind. Fuel on the boat was not treated and left in the tank for many many months, any way to flush the tank and clean it without having to remove half the motors and stuff??

You and I have been hanging out in the MEET AND GREET section. I suggest you go the BOAT section. There are two BOAT forums, the 2-stroke and a 4-tech. Post in the correct one so that others that have specific knowledge of the boat can help you.

Last question then and ill go post on the right one lol

Yes you can say it im a total newb.

I believe you have a 782 engine that makes it a 2-stroke. If you have more queations, simply ask. We are here to help.
