Sorry did not see this sooner. If you do it again just remove 10 or so and then run a phillips screw driver or a flat head under the vinyl on the inside of the staples that are still there and then just pull up, the staples will pull up with the vinyl then just continue sliding the phillips along the next section of staples

Soooooo what did you do today before work?

I dropped my wife off at the airport, picked up some steaks, made some chicken chili.....oh and built an engine hoist. Then put the motor and gas tank in my ski.

FYI I DO NOT condone this. Sooooooo I was sitting in the garage, had 2 hours before I had to get to work, and thought how in the hell could I get the motor in by myself. Looked around the garage......what do I have? I have some left over 2x6's, bunch of lag bolts, and some ubolts I bought for the trailer that are too big. Already have a winch on the wall to haul my skis off the trailer.....BINGO! I hung on it and weigh 185lbs and it held me just fine. So figured it would hold the motor with ease.

It was kind of a bitch to get the driveshaft with rubber tip thingy in the motor.

Get ready Suke's pulling an all weekender. No sleep,an all meat diet (except for the chicken chili), mass consumption of sweet tea and beer. But you forgot the most important ingredient, BACON, you'll need at least 2 lbs to get through the weekend. Right before you pull those steaks off the grill put a nice heap of butter on them and just let it melt it's way into the steak. Or if your committing sacrilege to your steaks and pan frying them (so wrong) cook it in some of the bacon fat for redemption. Man, I knew it was getting close to lunch time.

Love the engine hoist

we think exactly alike, all my young buddies, when wives leave town go to the strip clubs, I plan on beer, steak, bacon, lots of sour cream, and garage projects... i think its a sign that i'm getting old !

So in between meetings today I've been able to get a little more done. Apparently I lost the bolt to the accordion type clamp for the exhaust. DAMMIT! So right now I just have everything sitting in the hull and not bolted down. Just to make sure I don't need to move things around.

Got a little more done but don't have pics of it. Next is getting the pump on. Then doing anything else that needs the through hull sealant stuff that I need to use up( plugging foot pad holes, intake grill, etc). Dreading the electrics and the hood. Especially putting the wires back in the weatherpacks and making sure they're right.

I have one meeting left at 3 and I'm DONE for the weekend. Then it'll be jetski time until I passout. HAH!

Got quite a bit done, but doesn't really look like it. Forgot how much little shat there is to do.

Motor is now bolted down, pump is in, air louvers are in, sponsons are on.

Been up since 5 today. I'm wiped and starting to make stupid mistakes. It's time to hit the sack and go at it again tomorrow. Plan to do the seat at some point tomorrow as well.

So 3 hours in today and this is all I've got to show for it. I'm def not quitting my day job......I'm not very good at this. I won't even dare show you my suck staple job. LOL

So that indention that drives me nuts on some cover jobs......I put some double sided foam tape down to help out. Doesn't look perfect, but works.

Whats with all the bacon fat stuff? that's a heart attack waiting to happen!!!!

Good job Suke. Nothing like bring the compressor inside and using tables, etc for the set up. :)

I have pork chops instead of bacon. :) Speaking of which it's time for lunch. Going to cook one of those pork chops with some eastern NC BBQ flair in a cast iron skillet since it's raining like a mofo right now.

hmmm lunch!

Suke is short and more family friendly than sukemecuke.......Which started a long time ago back in high school. We had a foreign exchange student who would get mad and scream obscenities, but we couldn't understand him half the time. Sukemecuke was one of the slurs. LOL We eventually figured out what he was trying to say. So I used that as my screen name for many forums I'm on. Eventually got old enough I prolly should pick something a little less crass. HAH!

Looks good! Oh, the seat does too. That strap dent drives me nuts. The only thing I wish is that Hydro or BT would do is when you choose the same color for the top and "front" side they wouldn't stitch it. It would make a much nicer product for sure, but your's looks good don't get me wrong.

SDB, you only go around once, you gotta live each day like it's your last. Your also not cooking a pound of bacon and then frying a steak in all that grease. Just a little scoop. It's all in moderation.;) Just a flavor enhancer.

Yeah I agree. It's kind of a pain to try and line that stitching up. Mine doesn't quite line up, but oh well.

Here you go, all in moderation. Racer, surprised you didn't post this earlier.

I can't possibly do anymore tonight. I've gotten to the point I'm not thinking clearly. Started making stupid mistakes, which I tend to do once I get exhausted. Past that point a few hours ago, but HAD to atleast get the exterior stuff done.

I detail cars all the time and put in 13 hours days quite on the regular.....however, this whooped my ass. Anywho this is where I stopped.

Wow that ski is looking great, looks like you made good headway today, keep it up.

mmmmmmmmmmmm....steak

Suke the ski looks AWESOME! Your on the homeward stretch now keep up the good work.

That looks like a mighty fine Rib-Eye you have on your plate, correct?:drool5:

Ribeye is correct! My favorite cut of meat. I prolly have about 5-10hours left. Carbs, finish the exhaust, hook up the starter, and other odds and ends.

Ha, I know my Rib-eye's, everything else is junk to me. I noticed you skipped the bone in every cut of meat? Bone+Marbeling=Flavor explosion. Damn, now I'm hungry again.

Don't forget to change your inline oil filter, I hope you didn't fill the tank yet. And wipe those lines down. Those graphics look great, it's totally different looking at the ski completed exteriorwise. Great job.

Im thinking you need some baby blue registration numbers to match up to the lettering on the rest of the ski....Suke the ski looks INSANELY clean. Great Job!

Yeah, only downside is the bone is more weight and less meat. So I opted for no bone this go round.

I'm going with premix so no filter needed for me. Unless I hooked it up wrong. lol I haven't filled any tanks yet. I wiped the lines down already.

I try to avoid Carolina blue as much as possible. Prolly going to go with black/yellow numbers.
