Hey everyone,

I just recently purchased my first ever PWC and of course I decided it needed to be a Seadoo since I’ve heard so many good things about them.

It’s a 1991 Seadoo Bombardier SP. I bought it super cheap because it would crank but not turn over. I found out it didn’t have spark and read through the forums and guide to see how to diagnose the problem.

Found out it was the magneto (strator) and I just purchased a new one from eBay. The question I have is with the install, I am going to pick up a fly wheel puller tomorrow. After that, is all I need to do pull off wheelie and replace the strator then put back on? Do I need to line anything up or do anything more than that to fix my spark?

Any help would be appreciate, I’m happy to be part of the PWC community now.

If you are putting on a new stator... you will need general ignition tools to make sure the timing is right. Too low... minimal power. Too high... and you will melt the engine.

Since you have the manual... it will outline the timing procedure.

But... as far as the "Install"... the only special tool is the puller.
