It looks like I need help... AGAIN...

I just bought another Seadoo GS and already built a double trailer for both my toys. I really don't trust the new one so I want to fix everything before taking it to the water. This will be my daughters toy so, here's my question. In a SeaDoo this old, what should I spect to be worn, damage, etc. and what tool should I need to fix it?

I now my question is all over the place but any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Don't want to sound like a jack-off... but the question is too vague. The ski could be perfect, or it may need a total rebuild.

Last spring, I picked up a 1990 Si, and all I did was clean the fuel system, and clean the outside. Mechanically, it was perfect.

All I can say is to go over the normal stuff. Clean the fuel filter, drain the oil, and replace with a known approved oil. Replace the small hoses for the oil injection, replace the oil filter, check the pump oil, and drive shaft seal…. Etc.

yeah what he said. What year is it anyway? I'm guessing 91 by your signature. There are lots of good running 91's out there. just do the normal stuff with the oil and fuel systems, then spark plugs and check wear rings. and you should be good to go.

It's a 2000 GS, 720. I'll do that tomorrow and then, if I finish early I'll go and ride it. If something occurs I'll post again!

Does it start? What's the PSI of compression in each cylinder?

Make sure your siphon bailers are clean, drains/inspect/refill the cone oil in the jet pump, clean fuel filter, replace gray tempo fuel lines with new rubber 1/4" automotive or marine grade fuel line, remove/rebuild carb (Make sure to replace the internal fuel filter screen), make sure the 2-piece oil tank doesn't leak at the seam (If it does, replace it), Install new properly gapped spark plugs, check/replace oil lines (large & small), change in-line oil filter, check/replace all hoses.

I would start with all of that, then go from there. Assuming you have good compression, do the above listed items and you are good to go!

Hi, there...

I removed the exhaust and noticed that two of the bolts were spinning, so now ill have to re tread it... im planning on using some heli coil for the fix. Is there chance that the whole motor block is in this condition? Is this normal?

The only way to know for sure is to take it out, take it apart and inspect everything.

Or run it till it blows, and rebuild it or buy a rebuild engine.. It's usually alot cheaper though if you fix anything that needs fixed now before it blows..
