could not agree more xxxI'd never do it that way. Way too risky. At a minimum you should be having your paperwork (title/reg and bill of sale) notarized. CYA--cover your azz.
Not a bad sled for $1000 those kids got a fair dealcould not agree more xxx
I sold one of my snowmobiles to some kids from the Poconos they came on a Sunday with cash and were all excited to go riding I called the local tag place and the woman met me there because she will do some appointments if you call in advance the two kids were all mad that I made them transfer the paperwork into their name . I did not want them ripping around on my sled across Private property causing havoc and getting me blamed for it since my registration numbers were on there. Cover your A** !!! Never forget that

not to offend, and sorry don't mean to laff @ your post, but LOL at a Sunday Title Transfer... heck in my county a Wednesday title transfer means a 20 minute drive each way sitting in line for 45 minutes to an hour, and that's assuming you do the deal before 4:30 in teh afternoon, NOTHING is happening after 4:30, ever. Sunday ? not a chance. ..........
heck, this will drive you nuts... ,when I sold my lexus, the guy got dropped off by a friend, with a plate in hand, and $100's in his wallet, I handed him the key's (i was at work) and told him to take a test ride and come back in 10 minutes, (i went back inside, i had customers waiting) , he returned and paid me, I loaned him a phillips screwdriver to put the plates on, and vroom vroom he drove off with a signed title all I had was a bill of sale. .........
now that I recall when i bought SDB's ski for him, i bought it out of a parking lot on the highway halfway between the seller house and mine, I left it at a mechanics for a week, bought parts, test rode it, then gave it to SDB two weeks later, ALL with an open title, no registration on the trailer and a bill of sale that was hand written on notebook paper.
For me to title a vehicle that is CURRENTLY titled in PA you can go about it two ways.
1. Have the title signed and notarized, then go to a fast tags and transfer the title.
And I assume Spim that for you to do vehicle transfer is a state run operation? Ours up here are independently owned--hence the fees probably being higher than yours, so the owner can get his cut. And some places will mug you.
wow... thats crazy...
ours is state/country run, and fee's are cheap, my 2006 GP1300 cost $121 for title/registration and $17 for the trailer. Renwals are $35 and 17. thats it...
.
so that means ur gp1300r cost about $1400
You may have cheap fees but we have SUNDAY yes I said the Lords day off Where we can do Title transfers registration trailers etc. we can all be done on a Sunday that is a huge benefit. We may pay fees but we have the convenience to make up for ityip ! ski's are cheap around these parts !

I bought a Poppy cover off Ebay from the link on this site. Thank you though Coastie!
The guy with the 97XP text me today and said he has bills to pay and will cut it to me for $300. It comes on a single with flats but he says he will have it rolling for me Sat. I've got the engine for it so I'm gonna do like 68 and give this parabolic thing a try. Hopefully an engine is all it needs. Otherwise it gets the one day strip down and hull discard. That trailer would be an upgrade for a rusty one I have

From what Spim posted things are pretty easy on the Paperwork side for Jetskis and trailers in FLA . up here we have a long wait to get the paperwork through and you have to have the buyer with you in person at the tag (DMV) company so it's very difficult to flip hereI have had more than 9 several times but I fix them and move them down the road. I don't polish them up pretty like a lot of guys do. I just fix the mechanical issues, service them and sell them quick on the cheap side for a water ready ski. For this to work it's gotta come cheap. $300 sure fits the mold.
I'm a little curious about the ride of the 97 also. I've seen those things since they first came out and never once climbed on one. They are pretty cool looking to some people.
I'm still a little to fond of the 95XP Spim got me for $150 to off it for a couple hundred profit. I want to find it a good home. I want to build it with a pipe and carbs but wonder if it would just sell for the same money?
