id give a grand for those skis if t hey were about 1000 miles farther north. That 96 is a nice xp800 clone with that single gauge hood and hump seat. Im assuming neither run?

nope, locked up 717 on the white ski, running but back crank bearings (thats what I was told) on the 96. (and I have a crank !) overall both were pretty banged up ski's, seats were frayed on the edges, etc otherwise I might have taken a stab at them, I almost offered about $800 and could have gone 1K, and then decided I didn't want to dive into another 2 stroke project right now. With that said, it was worth posting, since the whole setup had potential, since with the umi and hump seat/nozzles, you've got a healthy head start there.

I walk my dog by this house and then a few days ago it was parked in the driveway... I checked CL everyday untill yesterday he posted it.. I sent him a offer of 150$... still no reply..

It needs alot of TLC... not sure on the engine.. why its not silver... but it could be spray oil? or paint.. I know the thing needs love.. so i would say if the bottom end is in working shape i could get it running..

what do you think?

To tell you the truth I wouldn't respond to such a low offer by email either.

Walk the dog again with some cash in hand and talk to him about what it needs. A non-running ski is in the $200-$300 range w/ no trailer too. I'm sure it will be in your driveway soon enough.

re: engine, i'd guess paint, not oil...

definately needs some love if it was in my area i'd take a look at it as well.. but not at $900, I hate that color scheme, about as ugly a seadoo as possible imo, i hate purple.... but 'as is" your looking at $3-400 value tops,,, if the cases aren't cracked, it has some nice part out value but a part out isn't a cake walk, you have to justify your time. i'd just say go there, and try to turn the pto, if its not locked up, make an offer sub $400 but $150 would be a steal, and unlikely... I think i paid $450 for a similar setup and barely broke even on the part out after a lot of BS. (cases were bad, which screwed the pooch)

it would be hard to lose money on the deal if you paid under $450 unless both the cases we cracked and electronics were fried.

I stumbled across this Double trailer yesterday, I have $150 invested in it, and honestly I don't need another double and wasn't looking for one when I found this :)

Looking to trade it for a nice single that can hold a 4 stroke, or trade of similar value.

Tires are good, don't mind how the winch/bow stops are set up, he had 1 ski, so the PO put the bow stop in the middle, and reversed the one on the right side of the pic to get it out of the way, but you can put it back to normal. will need new bunks/carpet, and probably lights, I never even checked the lights.

If you need one cheap, PM me, i'm willing to let this go for what I have in it, just come pick it up !!!
Fort Myers Area. no paperwork right now but price will go up if I have to run down and get it weighed and titled, etc...takes a couple of hours minimum to do that.

So I pulled a two day turnaround on this 96GSX I had sitting around since it locked up on my coming back from a winter camping trip. I had to "Frankenstein" a good used engine together. I painted it up nice but it honestly runs just as good and I'm only in it for a few new gaskets. It's the good 787 bottom end that I hate to give up. Hopefully I can get a good price for a good running old ski this time of year.

Man I can't stand it. You guys have deals all around you. All I see up here are sellers that really want to keep the stuff they have listed.

I wouldn't call a 97 speedster that needs work for $1800 a deal. Guess it depends on what "needs" work is, but anything that doesn't run spot on is $1k or less for that age. Not worth the risk.

Keep in mind FL is also likely to be a ton of saltwater use. I've been surprised my yammi hasn't been as bad to work on as I thought. Spent it's whole life in the salt. So far only broken one bolt and it was a hose mount. Just drilled it out and tapped it.
