Beeper replacement

In case anyone needs a new beeper/buzzer, Seadoo buys theirs from Floyd Bell Inc.
Mine took part # SP-568-C which is no longer made. The new replacement is #XC-09-212-W and is $16.52. It has about 6 inches of wire lead , so you must splice the rest together.

And this one fits in the SD clip. The Radio Shack beeper is much larger and must be secured in another fashion.

Hi, I'm bumping this thread since I've seen a few questions today about bad beepers/buzzers.

On the back of the OEM beeper is a number, call F. Bell and give them this number. They may even give it to you as they did for me...NO Charge.

I went to radio shack for the 9.99$.. Im no professional... Really Easy to install, Just have to find the right Connections.

You have to find the jumper to get the loud beep....

Just a easy way to check as you put the key in....

Hey if it rust away its a easy fix again... I think it will do for now...

You don't have to jump the connection. Just hook it to the "CONST" line.

Here is the thing. I did Just hook it to the "Const" Line and the beep was not as loud as jumping it, For some reason. So I thought the buzzer was broken and then I jumped it and it was louder?? Dunno but it works...

On the frt side of the handle bars, pull off the top plastic cover on the handlebar and you can access it easily. I would recommend the one from Floyd Bell, just like the OEM one

Ok, I received my beeper from Floyd Bell and I noticed right off that the wire is not as heavy a gauge as the OEM. I am sure this is not a big issue, is it?

The other question I have is on the seadoo harness, which lead is the positive and which is the negative? The two wires are purple/white stripe and brown/black stripe.

The purple is pos., tan neg.

Thanks! I found out that the purple was positive using the volt meter while plugging the DESS in and watching the voltage. It is good to have that documented in this thread now so others will know. Thanks for your quick response. Mine is now beeping again. :cheers:

The beeps tell you different things, two beeps is the MPEM recognizes the lanyard and the ski is ready to start. One long beep the MPEM does not recognize the lanyard. A 2 second beep every 2 seconds, the engine is overheated. A 2 second beep every minute, low fuel, low battery voltage, MPEM malfunction, etc. A continuous beep engine overheated. Plus several others, it's in the service and owner's manual.

Ok. Here's one. I went to make sure mine works. When the wire was grounded at the sensor, it didn't sound. I removed the buzzer and sure enough; no noise when tested at the battery. Installed a radio shack beeper which tested out good on the battery, and still no beep with wire grounded. I haven't traced it back yet. What is the next most likely problem.

Are you certain you have it hooked up correctly, purple wire is pos., tan wire neg.

Yep. I will need to trace the wires and look for corroded connections. I think it runs through the lanyard switch; which at times gives us some trouble.. It's a 95 GTX.
