Battery tray has 4 rivets holding it down. Rear two have rusted through.

Is that area on the hull safe for a couple of big lag bolts or machine screws or something to bolt into?

Any other suggestions?

If I don't get a good suggestion by this afternoon, I will use epoxy or some sort of adhesive to hold it for the weekend until I get a better suggestion.

I have my 2nd battery glued down. Half a tube of the strongest liquid nail. It sets up like concrete and hasnt moved at all.

I just put in liquid nails last night, if they don't hold I will go with screws.

already got it back together.

Thanks for listing the size and type of screw

tried liquid nail, and for some reason, didnt work. Porbably too much oil residue, in the glass. The screws, thats all i had readily available.

If it lets loose, at least I now know what size screws to use.

I just wasnt sure how thick the glass was there.

How different are boats from one to the other? My battery tray on my 95 Sportster is completely loose. My boss (previous owner who thought it was a James Bond boat) knocked the tray loose and put a few screws in it. That's now loose again. Would a combination of self tappers and liquid nails be recommended? I'm just not sure how thick everything is and really don't want to go through the bottom. If I'm thread jacking let me know and I'll start another thread. And if I am to use liquid nails, which tube exactly is the best? I go to Menard's and there's like 25 different kinds. I just want to know what to look for so I get the best stuff possible.

Don't start another thread. You are just asking for clarification on the same question I asked.

I assume the boats are pretty similar. Maybe someone with a boat like yours will chime in and verify it.

Hope so. I'm sure it's going to be close. I only have 1 engine so if aything I have more room, just not sure on the glass at the bottom. I've been PM'd already by one of the higher ups for NOT starting a new thread, so that's why I worry now :willy_nilly:
