I did not see any on the site I used. Maybe google search vinyl paint. I do not think Dupilicolor has a purple but other brands may.

Tonight we changed the oil in the pump and cleaned it up, there was some weird crud on the outside of it, we hit it with some degreaser and scrubbed it off. The impeller had alot of rust from inside the splines but that cleaned up well too

All the veins are good with no chips

The last owner must have changed it not too long before we got it. The oil had no water in it and it was actually blue, the pic makes it look black but it was not and it did not smell that bad

We use mobile 1 synthetic gear lube 75 90

The wear ring is in great shape.

The impeller is almost perfect

We installed the drive shaft and pump

Do not worry guys we cleaned the positive cable and the carbon seal was pushed back into place, this pic is just to show that the oring is not istalled it was the metal clip

We also put the handle bar pad togethor. The stencil should have been placed higher but it still looks good.
We also put on the grips and the spacers.

I love how the single gauge hood flows perfectly into the handle bar pad. It looks like it should be stock

This whole project should have been done by now. We are going to paint the nozzle and then all we have left is to put the carbs on, we have been waiting on gaskets now for 2 weeks. After that it is probably gone.

I got a halfie...lol you could paint the barpad black again and move the stencil.

As always your restoration is beyond reproach.

I dont know how you get the time to take so many pictures. Ive been trying for two years to take before and after pictures and always forget.

LOL yeah I get on a roll too and suddenly its 4am. Being your own boss has its perks..

Wait how are you already up JSG?

4am is the update time because that is when we get done working on them. We start at about 11:30pm at night and work until 3am then hit Taco Bell and head home lol. After cleaning up and uploading the pics to photobucket it puts us at 4am. I do post all through out the day. But when the work is done and fresh on my mind I like to update the threads. I guess I do not sleep much lol. Plus the forum is dead in the middle of the day, it seems to be hoppin in the morning and after 8pm. We start at 11:30 because my buddy works the afternoon shift. Remember guys this is our side thing. Whenever we can fit time we work. As for how am I up.....the days we work on the seadoos I will sleep a couple hours in the evening then after we are done working I sleep until 7-8am.

same problem here, I always think "boy those would have made some nice pic's" on the way home.

No that was my gs3 it would not focus last night. I do not know if it was the lighting or what. For some reason the auxilary lights kicked on last night along with the regular lights. I noticed it too. I took alot of pictures too, these were the best ones. The ipad did not leave the house yesterday.

I've noticed on my GS2 that some times I need to take the flash off to get a super clear picture or it gets over exposed, similar to what yours were. Or perhaps your flash was off, but you have to be ultra still without the flash. Time for a nice Nikon DSLR camera, you'll have plenty of cash after the sale of the 98 for a smokin' camera.

I must say that I am very impressed with your work and your willingness to share. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your project with the rest of us.

just curious, where are you buying your filters ?
the last one i bought was from Factory and i swear it was the same as OEM or SBT.
(i don't run an oil filter but I use them as water filters)

Tim, aren't these kinda small to run on your household water, lines? .....:)

OK, Where do you put them on your skis? Can you buy them in a bigger size?

This is now for sale I originally was going to ask $2000 but after all the work that went into this I now want $2500. I have not heard from the original guy that wanted to buy this in a while. I do not know how he will react to this price increase, but as this entire thread shows the extensive work that went into it I think it is justified. I feel bad going up in price but alot of hours went into this one and there is not another one like it nor as clean as this.

OMG!!! That machine looks awesome!!! JSG you guys outdid yourselves... Great work. I think when you sell it you will be sad to see it go...

Looks MINT! I like the red sponsons and nozzle. Stick a fork in it, now back to the 99. And I think the extra $500 is well justified, I know what I have into mine monetarily, I never kept track of the man hours but I have a bunch of them.
