Well, he said they shipped on 1-28 but they went to the wrong person. He said the package is suppose to be returned today and then shipped to me. Apparently they knew last week and never called me or sent me an email. I would figure the day they figured it out they would have just sent me new ones. I wouldnt have thought they would wait for someone to send mine back. I hope the guy who received mine didnt slice them when opening the package or mess with the 3m backing. He said they should be here Friday. They may have just somehow misplaced the order and didnt get to it and they are doing it right now.

Did your Turf come in, waiting to see that Black on Red.

I just got home from plowing/salting, we started at 2am and im just getting home at 6 pm. There was a nice package from hydroturf on my porch though. Im putting it on around midnight but pics wont be up until about 3-4 am. I have to go and salt a few more parking lots.

i just got home from a nice walk from the house to the marina, not quite cold enough to wear a light jacket, the water was calm at the marina, i'm going to bed around midnight, so I won't see your pics at 4am.

Is it ok if I view them in the morning ?

Come plow our street. White Lake township won't get to it until Presidents Day. :)

Here we go. They are awesome. From one angle they look red and other angles they look black. The red perfectly matches everything.

I cant believe your only gunna sell that for $2000. It will be a like new ski! I think that maybe i should buy it from you, wish you were closer!

I know after it is coming togethor Im thinking I could get more. I still need to do the rub rails, wrap a handle bar pad. I might do black now and stencil on the brp logo, Idk yet, still leaning towards the red pad though. After those 2 things the exterior is now done. Sunday its time to put the motor back togethor and the start reassembly.

Bar pad two ways: All red no logo or black with SEADOO in red. Can you find a red vinyl close to the red in the mats and seat logo?

Damn that thing looks good. Don't forget your grip spacers and seat corners.

You painting the engine too? All Silver or black. If you go black paint the head cover then sand and polish the high spots and the same for the BOMBARDIER on the main pipe, no red I don't think it will pop enough. Hurry up, I can't wait much longer. Did I mention how good it looks?

The spacers will be put on when pad is recovered and bolted on. As for the corners they will get done with the rub rails probably tomorrow.
I have bought red vinyl before but I dont think it will match, but I can order some. I had a catalouge with about 100 different colors but its $29.99 a yard which is fine, i bet I can find a match. I will just have some samples sent.

engine is not getting painted, the stock silver is still in great shape.

Oh baby how sweet is that. Its coming together nicely. What did you have to do to the motor? Also, what treatment will you be giving the rubrail? I have a heck of a time getting the shine back in them. What I do to the steering pad and rear grab rail does not seem to work as well on the rubrails.

i have like 4 different red vinyls in my stockpile, all remnants.. more than enough for a pad... how close to the color in a red solo cup is your red ? i wish I had thought of that b4 I sent the fuel selector I could have shoved a couple of pieces in the box :) I buy remnants from my local canvas/vinyl shop, at about $5 a yard, she saves all the remnants for me :)

Sorry I havent been responding to everything. My notification emails have not been coming across, then today I got 200 spam emails from seadooforum. Somehow seadooforum got marked as spam. I added it to my contacts so now i am hoping that i will start getting emails again.

As for the motor, this was a running machine. We broke it down, the cylinders were good but we ran a quick hone through it. We cleaned everything, the cases were not filled with oil but we are changing the rv seal out anyways just as a precaution. The rave valves were cleaned, We did a counter balancer exchange with sbt. The seal was damaged on the counter balancer, i am hoping to find someone local to start doing this. It seems as most counter balancers we come across have this problem and there must be a way to save some money instead of spending $75 everytime. I know they switch out the bearing but We can do that, we just are a bit nervous pulling off the gear. We have access to a press but that has to put back on so presicely we leave it to the pros. The crank and piston were good. So after all new gaskets that will be it.

With the rub rails I use different processes. I either use peanut butter, buff(the corners), or paint it. I will have to try spot areas then make my decision on what to do.

Today we got alot done. I took apart the carbs and gave them a once over. I went through and cleaned them up. They were not bad at all.

Nasty fuel lines with green slime

When taking these apart you are going to want to invest in a impact screw driver. I bought this one at harbor freight for $8

You will need it to bust these 2 screws loose too

We are taking a dinner break, but we will back at it in a couple hours

JSG your craftsmanship and attention to detail are first rate. One thing that I am sure you did, but for the future builders that certainly learning tons from your build, run the correct size tap through each bolt hole to clean out any old locktite, sealant, and gunk. This will enable correct torque.
Excellent build JSG:thumbsup:

Thanks but I cant take credit for it all, my buddy Rj the other half of jsg has alot to do with everything that has been done. We each put alot of time and thought into these. Tonight he cleaned the cases, put the rv seal on, assembled the lower end, cleaned the bolts and alot more. We make a good team doing these togethor. Having 2 people working on them makes things alot easier. While he was doing those things i was cleaning the head, scraping the old gaskets off the jugs, working on the carbs, I just dont want you guys thinking I am doing everything myself. We do make sure that we put every effort into doing things correctly. We enjoy working on these and sometimes we lose track of time while doing this. I think we will be doing this for quite some time. This wont be the last rebuild you see from us lol. We already have plans for the next 98 spx we get.

Its a tad darker then a solo cup. I think I am going to wrap it in black and then get a stencil for it. I am not sure yet.
