I didn't do any research before swapping out my grips. I figured the grips would be just like any motorcycle I ever owned. I was unaware the stock grips had a plastic sleeve and locking bar end. I found out quickly after cutting one off.

I ended up getting 120mm spidergrips. I had to trim them down a bit to get them to fit, but now they are really short and squishy on the end where the stock grip had the built in bar end.

Is there some kind of bar end extender I can put in place of the grip lock? I was hoping I could remove the bar end from the stock grip, install it, then slide the new grip over it, but it's part of the whole grip.

You can't move the controls anywhere on the 2000. They're snug up to the pad.

Also, the end if the bar is L shaped. Kind of like this

===L so there is always a part of the grip towards the end that doesn't have metal to support it.

There's no handlebar extension that I know of. You might want to consider using different grips, I use ODI Rouge grips on all my SeaDoo's.
