1996 Seadoo GTX Question

Status

Hello!

I recently purchased a gently used (1996 Seadoo GTX) with only 65 hours on it. The thing runs very well, and is currently awaiting the waters. From my knowledge the previous owner used fogging oil, and fuel stabilizer to winterize it. About a week ago I greased the main fly wheel fitting with grease, is there any other things I need to do before the boating season starts up?

Thanks.

Don.

replace gray fuel lines if present, replace white painted oil injection lines if present, replace oil filter, replace jet pump oil with full synthetic outboard gear oil 75w if i rememebr right, If it still has the grey lines you should also clean or better yet rebuild the carburetors or risk blowing top end. And check oil injection alignment marks make sure they line up on the pump and lever just to be safe only takes a minute to check. Check the oil used in machine make sure it was the right oil, full synthetic low-ash API-TC oil not outboard TC-W3 oil. Clean RAVEs now if the wrong oil was used. probly a few things im forgetting but the rest is basic.

The fuel lines are black and I believe the previous owner recently replaced them. The jet pump oil was also replaced with the synthetic outboard motor gear oil. I contacted the owner before me, and he said he used Quicksilver Full Synthetic PWC 2 stroke oil (meant for rotax engines). So, about an hour ago I picked up the same exact oil.

Edit: I also checked the oil filter, and it was very clean.

Th Grey Tempo lines are a name brand, not the color. Take a look at them and make sure they do not say Grey Tempo on them. Engine killer for sure.

You should also confirm the line on the carb was replaced. If you take a flashlight and look down on your carbs. There is a section of fuel line that connects the two of them together. If that line is has not been replaced, you can bet your carbs were not taken apart to clean the internal filters either. Before you start ripping into things though, be sure to search the forum and ask questions if you are not sure.

You also said that you checked the oil filter and it is clean. Did you remove the filter??? If so, you will need to be sure there is zero air in the line and if there is, you will need to bleed the system or you can cause loss of oil with an air bubble.
