1995 XP800 Restoration(Finally)

This is an original 787X original bore and oem piston size from 1995 with overall paint in good condition. Why paint it?

If I was putting brand new decals on and wet sanding the entire hull to look new, putting in all brand new oem parts, etc I would paint everything. As of now it's a great condition all original 95 xp800

I was just busting your balls too. I just think it will be less likely that people tear apart a ski, especially once you get it running good. I guess most of us are spoiled watching [MENTION=51350]Jetskigoodies[/MENTION] and [MENTION=57920]racerxxx[/MENTION] restos, so I just assume people will paint the engine, but I know you said you weren't going full bore like they usually do on their restos.

Don't tempt me, I am thinking about getting back in it...

Hah, well I gotta be honest. No not really. I miss working on them as projects though. It seemed like I always had to drag myself to the lake to make time to get the ski's out, and nobody ever seemed to want to go. Most people I hang out with would rather just go and cove out and drink beer on a boat, and although I like the speed, it just doesn't really make sense to me to have it if I hardly use it. One more thing to pay taxes, insurance, registration, gas, maintenance, etc... Big into atv's as well so that keeps me in the powersports game for now.

Just need to run the fuel lines and grab a battery, then it's ready to be fired up. I need to meet up with 1of500 to get the alignment perfect, it's extremely close but I'm sure it needs to adjustment

Have you resealed the pump extension? Neoprene and rvt around the fittings? You have to put the pump on while the rvt dries or it won't stay compressed

Yeah, we have some good places, but mainly just ride the creeks at our farm! Fun times.

Ski looks great!!! Could you put some yellow nail polish where the tear is on the seat, on the plastic part so its not as noticeable?

I haven't decided yet. They really aren't too bad and I want to keep it original but don't want to break my ankles. I have a set of NOS ankle breakers as well

LOL I didnt touch the ski...hell I didnt even siphon the gas out till the night before I left. I saw it that night as I went thru it to try to make sure it wasnt missing anything.

Yeah I'd agree. just black HT nothing fancy. Id like it to stay original but man the stock mats are a hazard.
