you're talking about the black plastic on the underside of the seat, right?

Speaking of your choke cable...
when I was a novice and before I knew what to look for, that black plate came loose from where the pull handle is on the console, so not knowing any better at the time, I epoxied it with like rock solid marine epoxy... Then I saw afterwards (when redoing the gas lines) that there was a plastic nut behind there that unthreaded and slid down the length of the cable.
What would you guys use to remove that epoxy? like a hard resin epoxy? is there any specific liquid or do I have to use a dremel and just be extremely careful?

and that seat is so clean, I'd be nervous to sit on it!

Yes, the black plastic pan on the bottom. The exhaust for the 720 VS. 787 is molded in a different location.

Yep, a nut from the back side. Nothing that I know of the would get rid of the epoxy, perhaps a dremel. Easier yet, just leave it be. I can't stress enough, look at the microfiche online before any repairs. An explosion drawing of the parts will help you determine what your plan of attack should be.

Yep, a bit nerve racking sitting on the seat. I haven't but the kids have. I still get nervous when people sit on the 99 SPX seat on my 96. But they are meant to be ridden.

thanks for the advice, yea if anything, I will just clean it up with the dremel as best as possible.

Yea, I just had my seat recovered, but it was just a material from a generic jetski upholstery company and it was cheap, and although functional, doesn't look the best. plus the neighbors cat used it as a scratchpad ONE TIME before I started covering it..so yea, they are meant to be ridden and sat on. As long as its not ripped or teared. and when it does, I WILL be spending the extra money for a better quality and better looking one.
But yea, especially with yours saying SEA-Doo on it, kicks it up a whole nother notch of sharp looking

I will let everyone know as well that I bought this seat without racer even getting to see it, I think I saw it, texted him, didn't get a response but bought it anyways knowing that he would have to have it. Just proud to be a little contribution to this awesome restore! It killed me sending it to him, after I bought it I didn't even want to get rid of it, just wanted to put it in a frame and hang it on the wall in the garage. Truthfully! Ha

Yeah, it was a shady deal all around but so glad I was offered the deal. Chris was a stand up guy, I asked a lot of him when it was packed. Telling him how to pack it, I already had the 99 SPX seat shipped in and while it made it it was far from packed safely in my eyes. I really appreciate that he was looking out for something like that without being asked. I know Chris had a hard time letting it go, but it's sitting on the best frame it could be right now.

It's lookin awesome !!!! You still haven't winterized your skis??? Funny thing is I have only winterized one! Holding on for maybe one more day! Luv that seat!!!

One day at a time really. I finally painted the exhaust. It's like the third time I blasted it. I always like to paint right after I blast the parts. So I did that and I guess I need to paint the carbs now. Installed the NOS choke cable and trim plate. It's getting there. I really want the decals, so there is no drive to finish it. I still need to paint the engine yet, once I do that it will move faster, maybe. Oh, and I finished up all the cooling and oil lines, all OEM tubing.

Looking good Dan! Curious where did you come about the clear tubing for the oil reservoir? I've look at the local Lowes but their tubing is not the same quality as OEM.

Thanks. The smaller tubing for the cooling and oil pump supply (same tubing) I scored on eBay. The larger rv oil line I got on eBay to, but didn't score. I could have got it from the dealer for less since I had to pay shipping. I think it's sold by the meter, I had 2 meters. The smaller stuff I got a ton, I think it was mis marked.

Also if you are keeping the battery vent line. I have about 70ft in seadoo packaging. I could send you some.

What is on the nose of the 95 xp?

Looks new and very similiar to a seat cover hmmmmmmmm

LOL, nope. It's an OEM NOS still in the bag splash guard for the HX. Just never put it on yet. It's on my short list.

I am keeping the vent line(not hooking it up--AGM) and yes, I'd love enough to replace it.

LOL, would you think I'm crazy if I said yes?

No, it's the original one cleaned with lacquer thinner.

Cmon dan, of course not....... I would only think you were crazy if you pressure tested the oil tank. LOL

But really, we all knew you were crazy all the way back to the 96 xp Resto thread... ha

wait.......do you not have a water control valve?

Yep, that will go on next to last. That is a pipe plug so when I bead blast the water box I don't fill it up with glass. LOL, don't worry this is all stock less the hydro mats. I'm even putting the correct 95 only WCV on it.

What's the status of the decals? Did Mike improve on the ones I originally had done? Size and color better?

I want to pick up another set if they look alot better!

He's getting a new printer and redoing the graphics for size and color and hopefully the pattern too. He also is putting the correct pixelated fade in the SEADOO decals for the front and the back and also in the XP800 on the side decals. He also is doing every other little decal on the ski, even the 2 yellow placards on the rear on either side of the tow hook. I'm just waiting on the phone call.

Nope, gotta paint the engine and carbs then install that stuff, put the pump on. It's close. I think over Xmas break I'll try and paint that stuff. But as far as financial stuff, I think the decals will be my last large purchase.
