you're talking about the black plastic on the underside of the seat, right?
Speaking of your choke cable...
when I was a novice and before I knew what to look for, that black plate came loose from where the pull handle is on the console, so not knowing any better at the time, I epoxied it with like rock solid marine epoxy... Then I saw afterwards (when redoing the gas lines) that there was a plastic nut behind there that unthreaded and slid down the length of the cable.
What would you guys use to remove that epoxy? like a hard resin epoxy? is there any specific liquid or do I have to use a dremel and just be extremely careful?
and that seat is so clean, I'd be nervous to sit on it!
Yes, the black plastic pan on the bottom. The exhaust for the 720 VS. 787 is molded in a different location.
Yep, a nut from the back side. Nothing that I know of the would get rid of the epoxy, perhaps a dremel. Easier yet, just leave it be. I can't stress enough, look at the microfiche online before any repairs. An explosion drawing of the parts will help you determine what your plan of attack should be.
Yep, a bit nerve racking sitting on the seat. I haven't but the kids have. I still get nervous when people sit on the 99 SPX seat on my 96. But they are meant to be ridden.
