The rodamine red is probably the toughest color to bring back. It will start looking good then you compare it to the place that was under the decal and it still doesn't match.

You can give up on getting it to match, ain't gonna happen. I burnt hours wet sanding to get it and I can still see the line. It will also never have depth straight on, you must look at it from an angle to see the mirror finish. The metal flake in the gelcoat just kills the depth. The lower hull decal is actually a different color "red/pink" than the front and side decals and the dash decal is yet another color red from those two. NOTHING matches. The pink is like this---"Good from far, but far from good"

The gel coat company in Canada is the one that told me that the color name is rodamine red. The don't make it anymore either but she did suggest to call spectrum colors in Florida they may be able to make some. I know that is kinda overboard though.

Oh and the line was masked off in the hull mold the red was shot then the yellow was shot over the red

Yes, I believe it is also in the manual listed as that, I read it somewhere a while back. I'll stick with pink cause that is what my eyes see, I'm not rattling off roadkill red every time, LOL. It's gonna look good pulling crowd pleasers off waves for sure. And those colors just scream 1995.

Yes, red first then yellow and it's laser friggin' straight which amazed me.

She told me not to go crazy sanding as well since there is yellow under it they were very helpful I just wish that those gel coat repair kits weren't so expensive.

I did notice, not sure if you did too but that pink does not sand the same as the yellow. And that yellow does not sand the same as the yellow hood on my HX either which also is a 95. That Gel is all very weird, I think everyone was sniffing too much resin back then.

It's a lot harder imo I had to drop all the way down to 300 grit to get it to cut initially. The 600 and 400 wouldn't touch it. I have been doing all my wet sanding by hand with a block kinda scared to put power to it.

I'd have to go back through my thread to see what grit I started with. Oh, wait, I don't want to do that my fingers are already cramping thinks about it. Temps can't be that cold down south. My shop is 68 right now.

The New and Improved 95XP800 Graphics are complete!
1st set was shipped out today to Dan - thanks to his hard work (and patience), I was able to make this kit as close as anyone would be able to get to the originals.

I went ahead and made another set - so there is one available for immediate shipment if anyone is looking for a kit.

Now - on to the next project - any suggestions?

OK, here we go.

The one on the left is the NOS lower, on the right is Mike's reproduction.

Now here is the dash decal and the warning placards. The warning placards are additional cost above the kit. The kit is just the dash decal, the front and rear seadoo, the hood side seadoo decals and the and obviously both sides of front and back decals. I think it's a total of 9 decals in the standard kit. If you want the "extras" you gotta pay the man. There are a few other decals I had printed but the images aren't big enough to post so y'all gonna have to wait to see those. The SEADOO decals in this rendering has been corrected, the dot between sea and doo was made the correct size.

This has been just over a year in the making for these decals. April 16th 2014 I sent the NOS decals and some of the tracings to Mike. I would like to publicly like to thank Mike aka: RatFink for putting up with me on this project. These are so darn close to the originals it's unreal. I think in the last 9 days we have had over 45 emails, and 38 texts and I'm not sure how many times we spoke on the phone. Mike has the passion for these decals, he is hands down THE PREMIER shop for decals.

NOTICE:
From here on out I do not want to see another 95 XP800 Limited scrapped or parted, title or not some guys have states that they can get them titled in. Breath new life back into them, if you find one and don't have the resources PLEASE pass it on to someone who has the means and utmost passion for it, don't just break it up. They're not making any more so we need to keep what's left ALIVE. If I could save them all I would. If you know of one post it up and help a brother out who needs one. I know of 2 members here who want them. Do it for the love of the sport and the all mighty X4 that started it, these WERE the game changer in the sport.
