Ok so I bought this new to me GTX and have a couple questions. I have gotten some great tips on general upkeep of the outside of the Sea-Doo including buffing out the gel coat, etc. But now I have some odds and inns questions and figured I’d post them all up at once.
1. The first pic which includes the engine cover I removed. What is the purpose of the piece I am pointing to with my index finger ( Just air flow )? As it was connected to the cover but just free hanging inside the back of the hull.
2. What is the best way to remove these water spots in the plastic parts? I have tried just cleaning with dawn and water but still there... :(
3. For the engine cover, is it safe to spray with cleaner, wipe down, and rinse off with low power water hose? Without hurting the ECM or electronics?
4. What is the stainless steel metal piece in the picture after the motor pic? Nothing is attached to it?
5. Anyone know of a good place to get blue gel coat so I can patch these two spots before I buff the hull?
6. Lastly, these are obviously for a battery charger, does anyone recognize what type, as mine required me to remove the battery today for maintenance charging and since someone already hooked up a better way I wouldn’t mind buying that type charger for the future.

Thanks in advance for any help, I am excited to get the family out on this thing this summer and curious to learn about it as much as possible as well. Thanks again!

Also, I saw someone say it was easy but haven’t been able to find any.... Is it possible to add a retractable wake tower like the Sea-Doo wakes have stock to a gtx?

Can't help with anything else, but the wire connector you have in the last picture is simply a universal double connector available at any parts store, and probably even the automotive section of Walmart. They come as a loop of wire with the male and female ends plugged together. Be simple enough to pick one up and wire it to the output of any charger.

1. That is your air intake hose, your air intake silencer is missing from the picture.
2. Vinegar works best, dilute as you wish.
3. No problem, it is designed for it. Before doing so I would check all connectors first and add dielectric grease to them.
4. Not sure but believe the cooling hose runs into it. Can be wrong as I have not seen a 05 for a long time.
5. Blue gelcoat, that is the challenge to make an exact color match :) I use Evercoat marine gelcoat for these jobs as you can mix colours.

The first picture is a ventilation tube that connects to the seat support and the other end of it is supported by the stainless clip in picture 5.
