Well...........................................

As you can tell by my name... I'm not a brand loyal guy. And call it Sacrilegious... but I really don't like any of the new skis from Seadoo, and Yamaha gives me the answer to 2 of my biggest issues.

1) Closed loop cooling.
2) Supercharger.

OK....

1) Why bother with it? I can understand putting it on a few models aimed at the saltwater guys... but lets face it... you have to maintain the system... and the exhaust still gets lake/Ocean water pumped into it. So... Let's get rid of it, and drop the price by $1000.

2) I know they finally put in steel supercharger clutch washers... but they still wear, and need rebuilt every 100 Hr's. The turbo's that Honda and Yamaha use will live the life of the engine if good oil is used.

I know SeaDoo is trying to make a technologically advanced ski... but I would be more inclined to buy a new SeaDoo if they stripped it down, and gave me a basic ski with a ton of HP.

yeah!this summer I picked up a brochure on yamaha jet skis and they say there a lot more maintance free and less costly to operate compared to sea doo which is a plus in my book if I was in the market fo a new machine. And for the price of a new one I would prefer to ride and have fun vs what will I have to replace or rebuild in x amount of hours.

I'm not ready to buy a brand new ski, but when the time comes I would look seriously at the new Kawa's. My buddy has one, very maneuverable, and nimble. Still a little big, but smaller and lighter than the SeaDoo's and Yamaha's. Just my opinion, like AH's everybody has one.

2012 RXP-X... is it just me or is the new RXP-X... not only not a pretty ski... it's damn near ugly? I find my '02 GTX WAY more sexy than this thing... cheaper too... my 02 GTX does 65... this brand new ski pushes 67.1.... what's the point?

I saw new rxp at the dealer the other day. Thought it was quit nice. The whole center section of the ski floats on the Hull. Big old shock absorber. But in s.c. lakes not that rough and at 15,000. U can get a new gti for 6500

I'm 360 lbs. I need a big ski. I couldn't even get away from the dock on am XP. Lol. Like a damn weeble wobble

i have a 2004 fx ho 1100 in my garage as well as my spx and my 110 lb buddy ( 110lbs soaking wet) was on the fx and im 220 lbs i was on my spx i still beat him on a straight .... i would take my 96 over a $7000 ski anyday imo

not to meantion a 18.5 gallon fuel tank which is bigger than my cars, and compared to my spx 9 gallon and its about 2 feet longer then my spx its a nice ski dont get me wrong but i would classify it more twards a small speed boat then a pwc lol

I looked at these and tried to peak at the engine. You have to have an engineering degree just to be able to access this thing for service. I asked the salesman, "How do you service these things?". He told me, "Bring it to us." I said, "No thanks." Judging by the looks of it, service labor charges will be much higher because there will be so much more labor just to get access to the engine compartment.

Long live 2 strokes...I already said that didn't I! Getting old is not for sissys.
AH is the initials for what my wife "lovingly" calls me most of the time. :)

Do we have the same wife? My wife calls me AH too, maybe they're just sisters. She also calls me inconsiderate bas**rd. It's her pet names like some wives call their husbands, honey or dear.

You're absolutely right.... Getting old is not for sissys! And my Ex... not so lovingly still calls me AH all the time! :ack:

Could be Lou,
Reminds me of a little Johnny joke!

Little Johnny's Dad was serving deer meat for dinner and ask little Johnny and his sister to guess what it was they were eating. They could not guess the correct answer, soooooo.....
Little Johnny's Dad gave them a hint. "It's something that Mommy calls Daddy sometimes.
Screaming in agony, they both ran to the bathroom to spit out the a**hole.

Just wondering have you ever called your wife an AH? I've never tried it, I know if I did I would be spending the night somewhere other than our bed. I think if we took a poll it's never happened. I guess it's a double standard.

Every time I am at a sled or boat show I always go to the BRP booth and razz them about making a machine the people actually want. A X-4 hull with a 150-200hp 2 cyl 4 stroke (think dirt bike motor) and 400lbs.

I got to go to the seadoo demo when it was in town and it was dead due to weather. I got to ride them all about 3 times and there is no way I'd ever buy any of them.

The brake is friggin awesome...BUT it cuts the motor to idle no matter how much brake you apply. It should have been incremental to hoe much you grab it...just a little drops the rpm just a little...making the nose drop, turn, and be right back into the top RPMS.

Having the most CCs in a jetski is like bragging about a big block in a ford galaxy. Sure it had balls, but it also has a much larger ass to haul. Turbo skis are the way to go. Polaris had it close to right, just no interest, twin cylinder, turbo, up to 140hp, almost 100lbs lighter than the competition. Still porky at about 680lbs, but closer to the original runabout weight than all the rest. Too bad they gave up in 2004.

Talladega...

Ever been to Weiss Lake?

No, I've never gone up to Weiss. I hear it's really nice. But, I live on Logan Martin on the Talladega County side (right across the river from Pell City). So, I usually just stay around here. Occasionally I will go down to Lake Martin (near Alex City, towards Auburn).
