Had the ski out all day today with the girlfriend and a full tank of gas for the first time.

Around 4000 it cruises quite nice until a small wave will start this porpoising motion that won't stop unless I slow down.
If I go faster it increases the air time to the point that I loose traction and jump clear out of the water  The GF on the other hand :puke: while I'm all :biggrinjester:

I think its the best fun I've had on it yet but then again I can stand up a bit and soak up the bumps. The GF hits every bump and gets tired of it after a while.

Just curious if this is normal for two up or is it just because I had so much nose weight with a full tank. Trimming only resulted in less speed.

After burning off a quarter tank it seemed to still jump but I could shift my weight and cancel out the motion.

I've not experienced that on my 96GSX, but I rarely ride two up on that ski. I have noticed that the ski does tend to be nose heavy with a full tank of gas, for a small ski it holds a lot of gas, 15 gallons.

The smaller hulls have a tendency of bouncing, depending on total weight loaded on.

Most guys on this board say that you run one less person than allowed for best perfomance. So... if you want to ride 2-up... you buy a 3 person ski.

I have an XP, and it's even smaller than the GSX. I've never been able to ride 2-up on it. The only time it's seen 2 people was with my nephew and his GF. But, they are smaller than me.

If you want to smooth it out for 2 people... a top-loader intake grate, and longer ride plate will help hold it flat.

My shortest ski, the 95XP will do that when its just me & my 5 year old sitting in front of me. a working VTS on these X4 ski's is a must in my opinion. Lower the VTS & it goes away quick, the lift it up on wide open runs.

The GSX & 97 XP really don't do it much, if at all that I have noticed.

Obviously tour VTS is out. A quick adjustment from it would remedy the problem. That's what it is for and it works great. You could set your nozzle in a different position manually and get a different result. I would try it a little lower first.

Matt how do you manually turn the vts? Mine is bad and i cant get the motor out, seems to be frozen somewhere. Manual turning may help figure out whats frozen.

he said trimming only results in less speed.so id say it works.
id go with what doc said, ride plate n toploader.OR,,get the GF her own ski! thatd do it!

It got better after getting below half a tank. After that it was all good.

Trimming up just made it bounce higher, and trimming down made it dive deeper before bouncing up again :P
I found a good spot for the highest speed and just dealt with it.

I'm looking for another ski :) It's fun scarring the crap out of her but its more fun with just one on it.

My boat was doing that until I pointed the steering nozzle upward to raise the bow, improved but not completely gone. This steering nozzle has a two position insert at the bottom pivot.
