Trailer move..

Very nice. This would be handy. My boat has to be put into the garage then moved diagonally. I just do it by hand and its manageable, but this would make it easier.

Very nice... but it's going to weigh more than the boat !! :D

I just got my driveway paved this summer. It makes moving the trailers around SOOOOO much easier.

Nice looking rig. I was a little confused by the thread title. Around here when you say move your trailer, it means put the wheels back on the house, we're moving.

I like the lawn tracktor, they do work good though. They are tough to push it takes a few people to push my 1800 Sportser up my drive way. With the trailer and that it's like 2300Lbs or so. If I didn't have few poeple to help I would need somthing to get in the garage. on flat surface I can move it ok.

just curious, but doesn't your garage have a driveway attached to it ? back it in !
maybe i'm missing something there, but I just back da boat in 90%, detach, roll it the last 10 inches, and i'm good to go.

I wish I could, my driveway bends to much to fit my fullsize Longbed truck and 20' trailer without hitting a my very large tree, my swimming pool/Deck, or my gate. If I had a smaller SUV or shortbed truck I might make the turns but it is to tight to swing it all in. I am backing them in to my Pole Barn that is fenced in right next to my house with only a 14' wide driveway that feeds off my main driveway. I am to long to navitigate it in easily. I haven't even tried to pull out the boat on my truck if I even fit that way I think it will clip the pool, tree, or gate. I can just fit my 2 jetski's through on my truck.

Access to my garage is via an alley, so I need to swing the boat 90 degrees to get into the front garage door, then if I'm lucky and everything lines up I exit the rear garage(rear garage door) of my garage into the yard area. It's doable with my jeep and 18ft challenger, but this hopefully will make life easier, plus I've been looking at 21-24 foot boats so I doubt I'll be able to back those in..

That power trailer mover will help a ton with your tight area. The boat isn't bad to move on flat ground uphill sucks. I thought about building one of those. I have an ATV I might put a hitch on and see if it will move it arround easier for me. It is only a warrior 350, but I think it can move it. I worry about hitting the pool and dumping 15,000 gallons of water. I won't hurt the tree it's way to big if I hit that. I thought of removing the tree but it's like 50' high and I get good shade from it. I would hate to see what is cost to remover 50' Birch tree that has like 3' wide trunk.

It's been a fun project so far, lots of experience points, I may end up renting a slip/boat storage at the lake, trailering the boat everywhere is a pain, be nice to show up at the lake and go..

My driveway is a real test too. I live in a town house that has a small alleyway about 4 metres wide and it's on a slope. There's 100% no way you can drive the boat in and out attached without hitting the garage walls or fence.

So to combat this I have spray painted an "X" on the drive way which represents the exact spot where I need to position my 4wd tow bar in order to connect the boat when departing and disconnect when arriving (reverse camera is awesome!). Basically I put the car at almost 90 degrees to the boat but roll the boat in/out by hand to the "X". Despite the driveway being on a hill, the "X" is positioned so that the trailer wheels are still safely located on the flat surface of the garage floor. (I misjudged this once and nearly lost my boat down the driveway - sacrificed my foot in front of the jockey wheel - had a limp for over a week!). Anyway, the above may be of use to anyone else in a tight spot.

As far as repositioning the trailer once in the garage - I would have thought the low profile dollies that some tow truck drivers use to manuvoure cars out of car park buildings would work a treat. They allow 360 pivoting - but could be a bit of a pain to get under the trailer wheels.

I've pondered this too - but I like to work on my boat, top up the battery the night before, and lube it down after using etc. This would be hard at such a place.

I use this...

Ok, I don't but it sure would look cool to tow my boat to the lake with my Z! It probably weighs enough and power is definately not a problem... but I would hate to mess up the looks of her rear.
