This fell out of my boat. Is it important?

Does it add to the structural integrity of the hull?

Do I need to re-glue it in or can I just throw it away?

It came out of the right side of my engine compartment, just below and to the right of the driver seat.

If you can see and get to where it came off I would put it back on. Maybe you could use some double sided adheasive or foam or some minimal expanding spray foam to reinstall it and secure it!

it's flotation material in case you take on water, and acts to reduce sound. I would glue it back in, but it's not mandatory.

This small amount of foam couldn't possibly help with flotation, but i can see how it could help with sound reduction.

I will see if I can find some kind of adhesive that will make it stick. Maybe liquid nails, or something.

maybe not by itself, but it was put in there by the manufacture for a reason.

if you aint got the right foot sandel, then i'd throw the left one away....:hat:

The toe of my right sandal is just there in the bottom of the pic. So I am keeping them both. :hat:

Duct tape and zip ties it is! got plenty laying around.

That "sandel" that is in the photo is not a "sandel".It's a thong.I know in the U.S. a thong is small at the front and string at the back but in Oz the thong thing is called a g-string.(I don't know why).Sandels have a strap around the back that holds it on you foot.(old people wear them)So that thing in the pic. is a "thong"Hope this helps you with Oz sayings:cheers:

I have called them thongs at times. Until they started to wear "thong" bathing suits then I started calling them sandals to not confuse people. I don't want anyone thinking I might EVER wear a "thong" bathing suit :puke:

By the way, Just an update, I left the back hatch storage doohicky out so I could have quick access to the engine bay on our last trip out, just to keep an eye on things after my recent meltdown. That thing is LOUD without it.

Made for a very uncomfortable ride and ringing ears all day long.

So that is going back in, and that other piece that fell out is DEFINITELY going back in too.
