I have a 97 sp with 720 engine , we was riding and started trying to die so we pull to the bank take seat off and it got hot and full of smoke from exhaust (better change my beeper ),it had melted the little hose that goes from pipe to waterline on front.i replaced that checked compression 145psi in both cyl. .. I did find out the water outlet was plugged (weep hole) .. Starts fine idle fine ,, the problem is when you take off it will just start to plain out and then fall on it face like it out of gas but dosent die .it will do it every time all day long .i did notice that the rubber pipe that goes from waterbox then out of the hull ,, when i hit the gas it swells up on the corner , can't be good but don't no if thats the problem.... Thanks in advance !!!!
Sorry this is so long !!

Check you rave valves, you may have toasted them.

"97 sp with a 720" I believe his engine doesn't have any.

I'd say you need to clean the carbs, fuel select valve, and if you have the gray tempo fuel hoses... you need to change them.

OOPS! You are correct Tony. I was in the manual section double checking my reply and I see you corrected me, Thank you. No need in giving bad information.

Ok i will check that out . I don't no about the rave valves ,is that like newer skis that have the plastic covers on them? If so mine dosen't have those . I have checked the carb ,its clean , i'll check the selector next .. Thank again!!

yup, no raves on a 720, just the 787 and 951'z.

If anything, bypass the filter and selector switch, by removing the fuel line, from filter to carb, and go directly to the "res" fitting on the tank, then leave the selector to "off".
