While trying to get the broken plastic bolt out, I managed to mangle 10% of the threads in this hole.

Replacing the pump plate seems excessive. What would you use on the threads, and why?

Pop quiz hot shot!

1. RTV
2. anaerobic gasket maker
3. Epoxy.

I'm leaning towards RTV, in case it breaks again. Epoxy would hold, but any future break it would be impossible to remove.

I'm also leaning to #2 as I have some in my shop. RTV, I'd have to buy.

RTV turns into rubber when dry. #2 turns rock hard. So, I'm still leaning to #2

Thanks!

The orange line is weed whacker string. Makes for a strong cheap pull wire. IMG_3586.JPGIMG_3588.JPG

Looks like most of your threads are still good. If they are (The remaining threads good enough to hold bolt), I would just use gasket maker or perhaps silicone.
