And you'd be buying an aftermarket POS starter. I am almost 100% sure that is a china starter. How you ask????????????? Look at the rear mount bracket.
1. It doesn't touch the stud nut on the underside, the OEM stud has a much taller nut with a much thicker flange.
2. The rear bracket mount is bottomed out on the strengthening webs on the back of the starter. OEM's have clearance.
3. The end retainer (on the shaft of the starter) that slips over the retaining ring has a slight groove that is offset short side to the end of the shaft so you know it goes on one way, aftermarket does not have that.
4. An OEM starter is more than $85 as he has listed
5. It's not clocked correctly for a 717 OR a 787. But more importantly, the nose cone is not tapped to accept screws like a 787 requires.
6. If you look at the rear of tha starter you can tell on a Denso starter they cap is radiused smoother, where the A/M has a defined angle on it.
7. NEVER take a sellers word for it. It should have a Nippon Denso label on it, although it most likely would be painted over since their(Nippon) replacement starters are painted a semigloss/flatish black, not glossy like the China jobbies. The label should be the same size as the one on an OEM starter about an 1-1/4" X 3/4".
How's that for a quick education on those starters? Sorry, I get lost in the details.
