I am having a hard time picking a good color combo for my 2 skis as I have no artistic skills - 99 GSX Limited and 96 XP. I was looking at blacktip, jet trim but think Hydroturf will work the best for me. Lets see what you got!!

I got a Hydroturf one for my RX. Turned out great.

Have pics of your skis for color ideas?

seat new cover.JPG....seat new cover - 2.JPG

My custom made cover for a 99 GSXL. made by Chris Johnson in Bradenton FL.

I added new Black Tip Mats a few months later.

I have the Blacktip (sorry, no pics) yellow and black for my 97 GTI's and they look nice but the seam quality is lacking and the vinyl is pulling apart along the seam right in front of the driver. They were very tight as I was trying to make the seam land along the front edge. Now that it is tearing, I wonder if I should have let it land about an inch behind the edge and lived with the poor fit. I will definitely look at Jettrim for the net one I do.

Never heard of Chris Johnson, does he just make the covers or do you send him the whole seat? Website?

Here is what I am working with, the yellow is split up front and the red is split up top along with the anti skid material rubs your legs raw. :o

chris is a guy that I know from way back, I think he's done 6 covers for me, over the years. He is a pwc owner/rider and works at an outfit called PPI (premier performance interiors) they specialize in nortech/cigar boats, fantastic work, but if he's not within driving distance, its a little spendy due to shipping costs. (if he wasn't close i'd choose jet trim, although their website sux) He's only 1.5 hours from my house so I use him w/o hesitation. approx $200 installed, more if you want something special like below.

I text or email him a pic, he sketches on it, discusses your custom idea, and does his thing... helpful if you want to add a raised area, like on the cruiser seats and stuff.

here's some other examples of his work.

Hey I re-jiggered these to maybe give you a better idea of what they might look like! I can make some more too if you have other ideas. FWIW I also like 1 & 3.

I like that grey turf in your foot wells....Did you just custom cut that?

yes, bought a roll of blacktip sheet goods and trimmed to size, makes a nice ankle buffer and cosmetically looks nice, no wedge effect but no downside that I found, I've done the inside trim piece on 3 ski's of mine after seeing my friend do it and have been pleased with the results.

$65 for 40x80" sheet on amazon, pretty fair IMHO. 40x80 goes a long way

Here is mine, just installed this year. The black is medium slip and colors are smooth, spike is silver.

My new covers arrive today. What is the best way to install the new ones? Hydroturf says to keep the oem ones on however my gsx already had a cover installed and it seems they removed the oem already. My XP I would love to keep it on BUT the very front vinyl is split ( see pic circled in red ). Do you think I should still remove it or just remove the tape and cover over it? I also found a video of a guy applying silicone to the underside where all the stitching is. He claims it prevents water from getting down to the foam. Thoughts, tips, ideas??
