dude are you serious.... tryin to get these rave's clean... nearly impossible, tried carb and choke cleaner, brakleen, and some royal purple degreaser what the heck do you clean these things with, that is a lil quicker..2 hrs still workin on the first one using the soak and scrub method....3 more to go, i'll be here for another case and a half at this rate?:reddevil:

I used carb cleaner to get the gooey stuff off then a air drill with a plastic scotch bright pad that is safe on aluminum for the baked on stuff. If you have a wire wheel that will work to just dont remove metal.

Wire wheel off my air compressor.

That stuff won't just wipe off. It needs to be ground off.

Wear eye protection cuz that wire wheel and that carbon build up will FLY!!!

Takes about 2 minutes per valve.

wow what a dirty job i just did those things probably have not been serviced in years blingin now... like gold teefs!! how tight should the top boot (nut) be on the valve.. i had to rebuild one with the sbt kit it was leakin'?

Cool thanks for the reply scooper... I noticed upon cleaning the last one, that in one ski i have stockers and the cut on the piston side is super pitched in the other ski their SBT and there not so pitched, do they get more power with the SBT and also on the small cut side facing up near the piston there was a lil nic taken out....can i just smooth it back out its not bad at all and the piston and rings look good??? And got good compression!

Leave it. If the chip isn't too big, it shouldn't affect the ride. I have had a couple with some small chips, and it didn't seem to bother it any.
