I don’t have any problems with the oil pump. I left it on my gsx and replaced the lines with Tygon tubing. Never had a problem and the lines are still soft. The ski was set up already premix. It doesn’t have the cable going to the oil pump. So I just went back to premix.

Anyone know how to remove the wire and fuse receptacle from this plug?

I’m replacing the top lid of my rear electrical box. I’m just swapping out the top because it has two tabs and one of mine is broken. The existing plug has a white plug and the wire going to the second fuse receptacle is missing.

You will still have to supply the rotary gear with API-TC oil even if going premix.

And yes, you remove the white plastic oil pump drive from the front of the crankshaft when removing the oil pump.

Yes, both lines from the tank going to each side of the motor. Seems to be one step forward and two steps back. I’m about to wrap it all up for the second time. Advice is what I come here for and I appreciate all the help. I was able to go back and rework my electrical box in about 5 mins thanks to the previous response.

Dropped the new motor in tonight. I’ll align it on Saturday and hook all the lines, carb, exhaust up and try to fire it up.

Motor lined up, carb, exhaust and all hoses and lines re-connected. Gave it one or two pumps from the primer and she fired right up. I’ll hook up the jet pump this evening and this project is ready for the water test. I’m gonna install a bilge pump and replace the VTS gauge and I thinks it’s a wrap!

Keep an eye on the two welch plugs on the bottom of the headpipe if you didn’t replace them as they are pretty common water leakers on older 787’s.

Also since you are running an aftermarket air cleaner you can’t use the stock carb settings or you will be lean.

I replaced the whole pipe. The Welch plugs on the original were leaking and looked like someone repaired them with JB Weld and silicone.

So Saturday morning I loaded up the ski to run it on the trailer but floating a few feet away looking for leaks and such. My water pressure regulator valve was leaking. I took it apart and their is supposed to be a small hole on the underside but mine looks torn. Could this be the cause and I hear of people placing an oring somewhere in this valve? Where are they placing it?

You can buy the spring but they are awfully proud of it. Just above the bottom of the bellows where the rust is on the bellows... the Spring goes right there. I put an O-ring on the last one I did. :) We'll see how it works out. :) Gotta be TIGHT ! :)

I’ve got the spring that goes with the assembly if you’re referring to the large one that sets between the valve and the cover? Is there another spring?

Fixed the pinhole leak I missed too. This should wrap up the only two leaks I found.

I found this pic on the forum. The washer wasn’t supposed to be in there according to the replies. I have the spring that is pictured, but not a second spring that goes under the bellow?
