Ok last question for the week for me..........then Im going riding

My stock air silencer keeps popping off even after tightening the clamp. Just not enough plastic on the end to go into the rubber hose. My question is can I just pop in a K@N filter on it instead and call it a day? I was looking at the flame arrestor one for about $60. It says to remove the screens from the plenum. But could I leave the screen in and just run the filter?

I think you would need to re-jet or adjust carb screws. I would think adding a k & n would lean it out. Not sure tho, so wait for someone else to chime in

If you install anything that alters your intake you will need to rejet the carb if you don't its gonna run lean and melt the motor

Yep... what they said. Also... if you get caught running without an approved USCG flame arrestor... the fine won't be worth it. Stock air boxes are cheap on eBay.
