This weekend I broke my sea doo and need some help diagnosing what happened and how to fix it. I hope you all can help! I have a 1993 SPX.

The night before I took it out on the lake I added oil for 2 stroke personal water crafts. Then I took it out to the lake and it worked fine for two different rides. Then the third person got on it and it started fine. She then couldnt get it to go any faster and accelerate much past a few miles per hour. She kept holding the throttle down hoping that it would go faster but it continued to just poke along. After a few minutes of holding the throttle all the way down a siren went off and smoke started pouring out the back and from under the seat by the engine. She immediately turned it off and drifted to shore and got off. We opened the seat and smoke billowed out then we saw that there was a lot of oil that had spilled in the well by the engine under the seat.

Do you know what happened or what broke? How can I fix this and is it going to cost a lot of money?

THanks so much for your help!!

One or both oil injection lines from the oil injection pump to the rotary valve spigots deteriorated, and your engine luberication failed and the engine seized.

thanks!

thanks for the quick definitive answer. What is entailed in fixing this? Is it even worth it or is it going to cost more then the machine is worth?

When the engine has cooled completely, it may free up (hopefully). Remove the *plugs and put 3-4 tablespoons of Marvel Mystry oil, or
injection oil in there and let it sit overnite. Try hand turning the drive after you remove the cover on the rear of the engine. A wing nut &
washer on each side stud. Remove the zerk fitting if you can if it won't turn then try a pipe wrench on the pto.

Sounds like your oil line from the oil tank to oil pump or pump to carb is off or broken like bills86e said check the lines and replace see if the engine will crank but don't start it if rotates do the lines bleed the oil system and take it for a test ride
