Have you returned the unit to him for further testing and given him the opportunity to do further repairs? Or have you only insisted on a refund? Have you determined that the stator is good? You could be barking up the wrong tree in blaming the MPEM and/or his repair. Techs are not Gods and mistakes do happen. Of all the threads on this forum yours is the first to state a negative comment on his repairs. At a price or $130 (repair) VS $480 (new) I am sure many have used his service with positive results.

Thread.....?

I have moved and started a new thread on this issue since you opened a thread that was first opened back in April.

I know Mike personally and have never thought of him as "decitful"... I agree with MobileWaterCraft and timmyboy on your problem. He's been helping members out for over a year and not one has had a bad experience. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, just that it hasn't happened to date.

I will call Mike about this issue and ask him for his opinion and maybe find a reason for your thread.

Well, Well.... I guess the age old addage, "You can't please all of the people all of the time" really does pertain to life sometimes.

I am not going to spend a whole lot of time debating this or defending myself.

Simply stated, my refund policy is as follows (and was CLEARLY explained to this individual): if you feel there is a problem with the repair, send the unit back to me and I will fix it or issue a full refund (minus shipping). This particular individual refused to ship his unit back after requesting a refund...he also stated that it was no longer blowing the fuse. This obviously leads one to believe that the unit works fine and he wants something for nothing...

Please refer to the comments above and you will see, I am an honest specialist and good at what I do with over 5,000 happy customers.

Well, sadly I'm having a bad experience with Mike also, even after attempting to contact numerous times at multiple locations (here, email and ebay). After reading everyone's great experiences with Mike on the forum I decided to get ahold of him, we exchanged emails and mailing instructions with no issues.

It seems that their is a COMPLETE lack of communication, since sending out the unit. Granted he did have some personal issues when I first sent out my MPEM on Oct 6th. But he has not responded to anything for about 3 weeks now. And quite clearly he has visited this site and posted in that timeframe. One would think he would have seen the 5+ PM's that I had sent. So it seems that I'm probably out an MPEM, awesome! Anyone know of a good, reputable place to pick up a new one?

Again, I am making assumptions here based on my current experience and truly would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, it is just getting very hard to do.

Thanks,

Jason

Mpem "buy/sale/trade"

Due to the complaints and lack of communication, I'm putting a "soft delete" on this thread. I recommend that no one else send their mpem for repairs until we have some concrete answers as to why PM's are going unanswered.

Mike has been very good to past members and has earned respect as a mechanic. He's offered his services to repair these bad mpem's for a fraction of the cost to replace. There may be a logical reason as to why these complaints are being sent to me via PM. So, we'll have to wait and see if there are any responses from All Things Custom.

Update!

OK, well today, took a look in my mailbox and low and behold, a package from Mike. What is it? My MPEM of course! However, no communication (letter, email, etc) stating that repairs were made or not. I've sent him an email to his hotmail account to try to get some more info on if it was repaired and if not I'd like a refund. We will see if he responds, I'd really like to know if it was repaired or not before I reinstall it. Anyway, just wanted to update the forum. Still seems a little shady and hopefully I'm completely wrong about the situation.

Mike....

Jason, I spoke with Mike on your mpem and he said he'd take care of it. Now, it seems you got it back, I'd install it to see if it works. If not, you should contact ebay and file a complaint. If you used pay-pal, you can get your money back.

I'm not going to re-new his advertising in the "buy/sale/trade section. There have been to many complaints.

Please try the mpem and let me know if it works.....
