I'm still confused, were his comments for the pink or the teal? Here's a pic of both. When I read the descriptions, the pink says it's for PWC that need API-TC, but appears to be a blend. The teal does not specify API-TC but is full synthetic. So would either work, or only the synthetic?

His comments were about the teal labeled bottle (full syn, API-TC). It would be good to confirm by looking at the UPC label, but the teal labeled gray bottle is part# 92-8M0058908, which replaces the
Black bottle with a yellow and pink label (part # 92-858036Q01 as shown in my post above, not in yours). Both of these are
full synthetic API-TC (low ash) 2 stroke oils, as confirmed by the response from Todd at Merc (and as noted on the Black bottle's label).
The gray bottle in your pic is a synthetic
blend API-TC (low ash) 2 stroke oil.
At the risk of beating a dead horse (many other posts on when to use full vs blend), as I understand things, the blend API-TC oil is good for lower HP engines that do not have RAVE valves or
fuel injection, like 587s, 657, and 717s. Many believe mineral (non synthetic) API-TC oil is also fine on these.
Many also believe that full synthetic API-TC oil should be used on 787s & 947 RAVE engines. Full synthetic API-TC oil can be used in the lower HP engines too, if the convenience of using one type in all skis outweighs the additional cost for the full syn oil.
TC-W3 rated oil is ashless and is
not recommended for Sea Doo engines because of the rotary valve needing some ash to stay properly lubricated.
All that said, there are some schools of thought that believe the latest additives in any oil that has synthetic included is good to use in all of these engines... and gas with ethanol is good fuel, HA!!! Time will tell.
