My lanyard key fits very tight over the button i really wonder if the lanyard would pull the key off the button and kill the motor? It is new and not the original.

Would hate to have a runaway ski.

White lithiam will cause any electrical contact issues, i just dont know if the ski and key would seperate it would be pretty bad. Just trying to be safe thanks

Do you know where i could pick up a used key?

Dielectrical grease then. :banghead:
eBay may have a non-dess, or your local shop, or ask guys at the launch, or you can always Craigslist for used Seadoo parts.
You may have bought an Aftermaket key/cap. The Dealer may charge about $30 bucs for a lanyard.

I don't like to admit this, worst case. When I was young and stupid, I forgot to hook the lanyard to myself, fell off the ski while jumping a wake. The ski slowed to an idle, made gentle left turn, and litterly waited for me to swim to its path. I pulled the lanyard and got back on, hoping no one saw me.

While I wouldn't recommend trying this, worst case the ski is NOT going to continue to run down the lake at 50mph, its going to slow to an idle and make a left circle, and almost come back to you.

Yep... if your steering isn't tight... most skis will circle around because of the torque of the engine.

As a bystander I have to say that is sounds funny as hell the way you described it!!! LOLOLOL Hope you were alright!! Dang womens....

you would be suprised how much force your body generates as you get flug off at about 25mph. my xp cap is tight, and when it flings me off it comes with me.

I clipped mine to the vest, my son last weekend had his on the wrist and it broke off, but either way I am comfortable knowing the lanyard key will come off the button and not get someone hurt. Me and the wife though had a little talk about running me over but all fun in the sun.
