Hi, new to here. So I have a 1996 gsx that I just rebuilt with a brand new motor. So we were having trouble lately trying to have the cluster turn on. We discovered that the diode in the MPEM was blown so we put a new one in. Now, the cluster turns on and all the gauges work. But, when we put the key on, it doesn't recognize it. But, one time, it was able to recognize the key, it emitted 2 small beep and it started right off. Since then, I haven't been able to get it started again, with no beep happening. Also, I am able to put on the advanced diag by pushing the start/stop button 5 times.
We checked the DESS post with the multimeter for continuity with the procedure, and it was good.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?
