2001 Seadoo GTX 951 carb No Start

Last time we took this jet ski to the lake everything worked great but this time we got to the lake and no start.

I put the key in we would the 2 beeps (so good to start) but nothing when the button is pressed.

Changed the button because I read the those are a common problem. It worked and I thought I fix the problem but the next I go to start before bringing to the lake and nothing again, just the 2 beeps.

So we thought a broken wire. That’s why sometimes it works and sometimes not. But we ran our own wire straight from the switch to the start solenoid and still nothing.

We don’t know what it could be, maybe were thinking the solenoid it self.

Also don’t think the new button is bad because we cut it off and just touched the wires together and still nothing.

Thanks for reading, please let me know if you have any ideas or help.

You can jump the solenoid to see if it cranks over. Just use a tool with insulated grips and touch the two post, it should crank over. If it does then most likely the solenoid is bad.

Are you sure the button you bought is good, aftermarket electrical parts tend to be less than reliable.

It does crank when jumping the solenoid, but would not start. Is this normal, like you just jump the solenoid to start it?

I ordered a new solenoid and button just be be sure.

NO in order to start it you have to press the start button, jumping the solenoid tells you there is power up to the solenoid but the solenoid may not be working. Try to find an OEM solenoid, aftermarket electronic parts are hit and miss. I ordered two NEW ones and both were bad before I got a used OEM unit. Just my 2 cents.
