Hi and welcome to the SeaDoo forum,

Yes the drive shaft should turn freely. Question, how did you remove the engine without removing the pump?

Lou

O.K., I've never seen a engine removed that way. If you loosen the zerk fitting on the pto the pto will come off. Then I would remove the pump and the drive shaft. You have the older style drive shaft seal and if the drive shaft is not turning freely you will need to rebuild part no. 19 the needle bearing will probably need replacing. You didn't specify the year of you ski so I just picked one, yours will be similar to this diagram.

You might just want to buy a kit to rebuild the drive shaft. PM me and I'll tell you where to get it.

Lou, I don't think you meant to post this link in this thread. It's the same diagram as you posted in "95 seadoo sp, please help"
#19 is a part of the dess/post ass'bly.

Lou, I didn't need to know. I was just commenting on the link being the wrong diagram. You probably had both links copied somewhere and just clicked on the wrong one to list it here. Not a biggie.

SDB Sorry, I came home in a bad mood, my Dad's in the Hospital, and had a bad day at work. I thought this guy had resolved his problem.

Lou

Lou, forget about it.
Hope your dad gets well soon.

Remember a bad day boating is better than good day at work.........
