well guys i am back. a lot has happened to me over the last year, some good, some bad. But any, i've done something i never thought i would do: i've gotten 4-tec's. the right deal for me came along and so i got these two: a 2009 rxt-is 255 and a gtx wake 155.

they have about 36 hours on both of them.

Welcome to the ......heavy inhalation.... dark side.

Not a fan of the iS skis but...to each there own.

You will LOVE the RXT.

Mine is a RXT-X not iS model. Every time I ride it makes me smile. Just wait until you give it the gas, its unreal...

yeah i know its going to be awesome, but even tho i've gone darkside i'm keeping my x4. now i have an excuse to go head and do a 951 swap lol.

Congrats on the skis. I myself don't like the iS much but you may! Welcome to the 4tecs too!

Very nice!!!! I think quite a few of us have upgraded to the 4 stroke. Im kinda intimidated but i know with the help here its all good.

ahhh im happy im not the only two stroke guy who made the leap... congrats on the purchase... now i dont feel so alone hahah

haha, im making the leap this week aswell! after a few anticipated months! 4TEC it is i guess!? what did you trade for? curiously

i had a k5 blazer that i traded for a motorhome. fixed and cleaned up the MH and put a hardwood floor in it and refinished the cabnits, then traded it for these.

awesome! that sounds like a nice little trade!!! so now you got 3 ski's to play with! lets see the 951 conversion now :P

it'll prob be a winter project. i'm been searching for a good donor gsx-l but i may have to settle for a gtx-l. and i've got a few ideas to make it truely custom and my own. i'll be stripping the decals of it here this week and doing some cosmetic stuff.

Do you have your own tv show??? Barter kings at its finest lol good deal man!

i was doing this stuff long before that show. and i don't rip people off like they do. i just find broken or stuff that needs work, repair and fix it up( all while giving sweat, blood and sometimes tears lol) and increase the value of what i have.

PPE,

Well...mind you, not everyone...heh.

You, having never ridden an old flat hulled rxt wot through the chop...will have no frame of reference with what I'm sayin. Don't take offense...just somethin for you to keep in mind when you first hit it hard through the slop.

Riding an iS gave me a "tippy" feeling...because even in sport mode the center of gravity was higher than my old rxt.

why is everyone hating on the iS? lol

They have sinking issues... there's a pretty lengthy write-up on the issues in this forum already. Something about the access covers at the rear of the ski not really being water-tight and if the footwells fill with water with the ski sitting level the water starts to pour over into the hull thru the iS gap. Ergo, sitting level on a trailer or at anchor if it comes a rainstorm and nobody intervenes the hull fills up with water and once those rear access covers (fire extingisher cover?) go underwater they sink the watercraft completely. That's all I remember about the iS problem.

I too far prefer my solid hull RXT over any iS hull! I'm told the iS hulls are nice for people with back problems though since it gives the rider less jarring in rough waters.

well i didn't know about all that. I'll keep a eye on that back cover. its mainly my dad is going to be on it more than me and after his accident last year he has bad back problems. tho i was on it today and it still did 0-60 in about 3-4 seconds. but while he didn't notice the tippiness ( cause you can not call any 3 seater tippy after you ride a xp) but i did notice the iS wanting to off level me.

Ok I'll give you the part about the XP. They're not as top heavy as that but compared to modern skis I feel like they are. At last year's seadoo demo tour I rode a GTX limited and was very disappointed in the handling.
