I haven't been on the forum for quite some time, which is a good thing, means everything is up and running good. I got the 96 GTI out this past weekend she runs good, but fades....I haven't changed the fuel lines, will do that and will clean the selector switch too.

This forum is very helpful and insightful and thanks to everyone who participates I read many threads and am confident I will get er going good next time at the lake.

Yep, a lean fuel condition. Causes hesitation and engine falls on it's face, runs out of fuel and quits. Often an air leak at the fuel/water separator or could be gummed passages in carburetors or otherwise anything that interferes with normal fuel flow.
