I came across this. What initially caught my eye was the nozzle/sponsons. The owner says it has a "race engine", but really can't seem to back it up, and says
"I don't know much about engines." Trying to get a few more pictures; it's a couple hours from me and don't want to spend the gas yet.

I told myself I did not want to buy a ski with a 787, but this one caught my attention.

It's cool, but not $1000 cool imo. I would bet that it needs more than its carburetors cleaned. "Needs carb work" usually means I have no clue whats wrong. I would like to know whats under the seat. It could have a heavily modded engine. If it was used and modded for racing, It might have a factory pipe, or equivalent. Then you would need to run race gas in it, or swap out the pipe and the head for rec use.

I agree with Ryan, it looks pretty ragged out. However it might be worth picking up for the parts. See what's under the seat and then maybe talk with Matt Braley or Nick Minnetonka4me might be worth a shot.

I contacted the owner via email. Seems pretty desperate and just make her an offer, says she needs the money to make her house payment. I believe she would take 5 or $600. I want a pic of the motor before I make a 2 hour trip tho.

Grinditout - everything in my area has been in the salt. It's just something you have to manage.

For anyone who may be curious, here are a couple pictures of the inside.

I'm going to do nothing. The whole thing feels a little weird to me, and I really don't want to deal with a non-stock setup.

Posted the pictures in case someone else wants to take a shot.

What a small world that's about 45 mind from me. I tried to call them but they never answer. That is a steal for around here, nothing a little polish and elbow grease won't fix. We're the negotiable or pretty firm on the price?

Really small... We bought the modded one.. Lol he was a nice guy. He has a bunch of toys.

Wow! Yeah I contacted the guy and he said someone was coming aroun 1:00 that day to look at the xp's. He texted about an hour later and said you had bought the modded one. So I lost interest after that. Dang that thing is cleaning up nice!

We paid $1000 for the ski. It was 200 to dip the hood because we had to split it and dip the mirror frames, the gauge cover, and both sides of the hood
