2008 GTI 155 gauge question

I just purchased a 2008 GTI 155 and the gauge doesnt work. I tested it and I do have voltage on pins A and B at the plug on at the gauge. My questions are, has anyone on here ever purchased the ones from Brazil for around $400 and if so has it held up and still working? I think the guy is on this forum.

Next question is it worth the money? I'm not interested in my RPM's or how fast I'm going or even if I am heading North, I know which way is north. I'm more concerned about low oil, or running hot. With the gauge not working will I still hear a warning alarm if it runs hot or low on oil? The seller told me that it will beep when it is low on fuel.

Just don't want to spend that much cash if I don't need to.

Thanks
Rick

Yes, have bought several from him but now you can get the same cluster on ebay for less than $100. They always have worked well for me but they do require flashing and marrying using BUDS but then perform like OEM and while they look really good they are not quite as good as OEM as far as looks. With that said, they are made in China but very good knock-offs which are the only ones I buy now.
